Exactly 3 weeks left! Best of luck to all of you!

I got an invitation to apply for the Leadership Scholarship. How does this affect my chances?

There is no correlation between being invited for the leadership scholarship and likeliness of being admitted. It should say so in invitation.

Do UV schools take demonstrated interest into account when reviewing?

No @ineversleep

For those who went to Regents interview, how did it go?

My d had an interview on the 5th. She checked in and then headed off to meet with a professor (not in her major) who was “absolutely amazing”. They had 30 minutes to talk but the prof knew so much about my d already that it was a very easy conversation. Ended with the prof encouraging my d to come to UCB. Just a really great experience for her.

Decisions come out the day after my birthday and Berkeley is definitely my top choice after staying with my friend in CKC for a few days. It’s such a beautiful campus and I’ve been praying so hard lol

Wanted to share about the interview weekend at Berkeley. It was really amazing. Big kudos to the university for flying in both the student and a parent. We were staying at a nice hotel in Berkeley marina, shuttle was taking us to the school and back, food was provided (excellent food I might ad). The admission officer told me this - they had 78K applications. From that pool they chose 1500 for Regents , including 60 out of state. Of the 60 out of state, 50 flew in for the interview. They will offer the scholarship to about 50 % of invited students. (both in state and out of state). I was surprised to hear that their yield was higher for OOS students by about 10 %. Good luck to you all !

@Kelowna‌ how much does Cal give out of state Regents for the scholarship?

@Bored1997‌ Friday, March 27 is Cesar Chavez Day and is an admin and academic day off.

Do you guys know if it’s too late to change my major now? I originally applied to Computer Science in EECS but now I realized the computer science in the letters and science is a much better fit for me.

@prezbartlet

Or it’s easier to get in?

@prezbartlet‌ I believe your ship has sailed. On the upside if you get in - you’re in your major. And the guys at Soda Hall told us that there weren’t that many more courses (perhaps just a couple more) required of the EECS route than the going the Undeclared to CS L&S route. On the down-side it’s harder to get into an already competitive school.

just a quick question - i just realized that i had left my second spoken language blank (i should’ve put English). it’s kind of obvious that i speak English as my second language (i transferred to an international school in the middle of high school), but i sent uc schools an update. would leaving such blank have an impact on my admission? (or even updating new info at this point?)

I haven’t gotten an email from Cal since February 17, is that weird?

Not its not weird. I haven’t received an email from them ever since the Alumni Scholarship invite.

Will Cal be coming out next week at 3 pm or 5

@awesomesauce8312‌ probably 5, to avoid phone calls from angry parents

LOL angry parents haha. So many people called SD this year :0
