Did you also get exact same email??
it says " we realize you’ve been anxiously awaiting your decision from UC Berkeley". Does that mean that they know that I have been checking my application portal often??
@10s4life
Thanks for reply. Is that sent to everyone, or for anyone that they are not auto-rejecting?
@10s4life
Thanks for reply again
From reading other posts, I found that not everyone gets leadership scholarship thing and happy new year message. So, I just hope it is a good sign for both of us, and hope we both get in at the end.
Until decisions come in March, hope we can keep our conversations going.
If we both get in, hope we can also become friends at Berkeley. LOL.
@CalBearsMom I got an email.
I got an email today from UC Berkeley it went like this
my name and then
Want to start your freshman year in an extraordinary way? Spend your summer at Berkeley then your fall semester abroad in London, Madrid, or Rome! If you are admitted to Berkeley, we invite you to learn about Global Edge, a program for newly admitted Berkeley freshmen.
Through Global Edge, you’ll take eight weeks of summer courses on campus alongside other incoming Berkeley freshmen. You’ll be able to explore campus resources and connect with your peers, giving you a head start on your Berkeley experience.
In the fall, you’ll continue your studies in London, Madrid, or Rome and spend the semester taking Berkeley courses abroad. You will study, learn and live with a small cohort of classmates, and return to Berkeley for spring semester with many academic requirements completed and a new global perspective.
What are students saying about their Global Edge experience?
“Global Edge allowed me to discover things that I didn’t know about myself. Without the chance to study abroad my first semester of college, I do not think that that I would have had the same broadened perspective or understanding of the world around me.”
“I didn’t know you could learn so much simply from living in a new city for a few months.”
“Initially, living independently in a country halfway across the world with people I barely knew seemed like a daunting task, but I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my first semester any other way.”
“My favorite part about Global Edge was meeting new people over the summer and living with some of my best friends while abroad. I never felt bored while abroad because there was always something to do every weekend.”
To register for Global Edge, you must have been admitted to Berkeley and have submitted your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). Applicants must be 18 years of age by August 13, 2016 and have a valid passport from the United States or EU passport at time of application.
More details can be found at globaledge.berkeley.edu.
Sincerely,
Global Edge

Did anyone else get this?
@lovingkindness .
You did not apply to Engineering. Did you??
Based on what I found on College Confidential, it is only for those who applied to College of L&S and College of natural resources.
Ugh so nervous especially after reading that EECS is between 5-10% admit rate
Has berkeley released a date for their decisions?
March 24th.

So glad I didn’t apply engineering. LOL. Good luck guys
@anon510 How in the world do you know it made the admissions officer cry?
Honestly I’m regretting applying for EECS, cause right now if I get in I’m planning on transferring to IEOR and then apply to the business school and do a simultaneous degree.
Have any engineering majors been accepted yet??? the replies are all over the place on this thread and i don’t wanna sift through them
I know UCB accepted regents/ top 2% early but everyone I know that has gotten in has been for other majors
Yep, I did!
But my major is ChemE, so I was accepted to the College of Chemistry, not the College of Engineering
@sara1432
I saw couple people on the thread that talks about decision with stats accepted to EECS.
Also guys all the fuss about recommendations, does it in any way indicate anything?
