about the waitlist pathway… are you allowed to choose both, or do you have to pick one only? i like both the pathways, so i wanted to check both rather than choose either one…

@nontraditional

A few days ago many were speculating that changes to the number of mailing and permanent addresses on one’s portal was an early indicator of acceptance. A current student at UCB shared how his portal change from 2 to 4 addresses a few days before his acceptance. Does not seem like this theory was validated.

@prekira I’m in the same position as you, accepted to UIUC and GATech for CS. Rejected from UCB. Which school are you leaning to right now?

Hi, if I plan to major in Neurobiology, will it be disadvantageous to choose the Fall Program for Freshman instead of Traditional?

@prekira @MtEverett - EECS is almost impossible to get into. Like around a 5% to 7% acceptance. My wife’s best friend’s son had a perfect ACT and 4.0uw GPA last year and got rejected by UCB EECS (went to UCLA Engineering instead). That’s why my kid took the “easier” route with L&S CS instead and got in, with similar test scores.

I live in Mexico and was recently accepted (UW GPA 3.9, 1360 SAT). Has anyone international or otherwise received the admit package in the mail from berkeley? Thanks

I dont know how but I somehow got in!!
Despite waitlisted at UCD and rejected at USC and UCLA.

Really happy yet confused at the same time

@bem123: Waitlisted applicants should expect to be notified after May 1 since that is the deadline for SIRing to UCB. If spots open up before that date, then UCB could start accepting students.

I just got accepted to the college of chemistry and I took a semester of chemisty in my junior year at my local university and got an A. It was a 2 semester class and I sent in a drop form 2 weeks into the semester but as I’m looking at my transcript it never got dropped and I ended with a a D so on my UC application it says I took one semester and got an A and just says I didn’t take the class second semester. Am I done for? Can I call and explain or am I pretty much screwed?

ya it is @Yaboical

Accepted for CLS!!

Legit was expecting a rejection since its UCB, and my week was utter hell from reading 5 rejections in a row.

Accepted at: Berkeley + PLNU, SDSU, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, Cal Poly SLO, U of Ariz
Waitlisted at: Case Western, UCLA
Rejected: none

I think her Berkeley acceptance was due to her warm, honest essays and leadership, since every applicant seems to have amazing test scores and GPA.
She’s still thinking over her options, but probably going to PLNU for size, strong religious community and research opportunities. Costs are all about the same.

Do the UC’s favor public schools?

@YoungOne4 Nope. Although coming from a private school (usually a wealthier background) means that extra curriculars are expected and test scores should be higher because of the greater opportunity.
