International here too. Accepted to UCLA, but I’m terrified I won’t get UCB. It’s going to be a long week… good luck to everyone else!
Has anyone received decision for UC Berkeley?
Cal’s always been my dream school but now losing all hopes after waitlisted from UCSD and UCLA…Likely to attend Georgia Tech engineering now.
after rejection from UCLA and waitlist at UCSD I’m genuinely worried about cal, it’s my first choice and my friends who go there we’re all rejected or waitlisted from UCLA. Maybe there’s still hope? The acceptance rates are really low this year though. Good luck everyone
It’s too hard to predict where someone is going to earn admission and not. It’s frustrating not knowing how to secure a spot at your favorite school…they don’t hand out the formula for it.
I never thought any school that I applied to is a certainty, or even a probably. Some of these UC schools are getting 100,00 applications. There is no way it’s not a crap-shoot at that point.
As so many others here are trying to do, I’m trying to get into one of UCB’s extremely impacted majors - computer science in the COE. I have pretty high stats but got rejected from UCLA. I was accepted to Davis, UCSD, UCSB Chancellor’s invite, UC Riverside with $10k Regents, UCSC and Cal SLO. I’ve been accepted to U of Chicago EA, U of Michigan EA, Johns Hopkins, Purdue, and GT.
With all that going on, do I believe I have a decent shot of getting into Cal? No. It’ll only be through luck of the draw. There are just too many people trying to get in.
A few Ivies are on deck and up next for me. I do believe I have a much better shot at getting into one of them than into Cal.
That being said, I wish everyone trying to get in the best of luck.
Has anyone applied to the GMP program at HAAS - UCB this year ? If yes, did you get an interview request ?
I feel like I have no chance at UCB (which is my top) now that I got rejected from UCLA. UCLA was pretty much a fit for me and my scores and now I’m super worried about UCB… gl everyone
@KES2022 wow you just killed all my hope for Cal thanks dude
@peppermint0103, don’t give up hope on my account. I’m just saying how it is from the way I see it…what do I know?
TBH my stats were way above average for UCLA, yet I was rejected, so it’s more about if you “fit in” to the particular college’s profile… @peppermint0103
@BrKmNk Everyone here is going to end up in a good college, and it’s up to each person to make that place fun and special for themselves.
Berkeley, UCSD, Harvard, MIT, or wherever you think the grass is greener–They’re only names, and sure, they all offer a good education of course, as does most every other college. They aren’t what makes you you. They can’t validate/invalidate you through some admission/rejection process. You, and the friends you will make, are what will make college great for you–not the name of the school. I truly believe that.
You are too good for UCLA. They might have thought any way you are not going to join UCLA.
Did anyone hear back for the MET program? I applied this year but still have not heard back yet.
Do you guys think it is possible to get into Mechanical Engineering with Act of 26 and UC GPA of 4.2? I come from an under-resourced school.
I got waitlisted at UCLA with 1500 SAT and I had school #1 rank in 11th grade. Why was UCLA so harsh? I just feel I have a zero chance at Cal now :’(
Nervous
I’m nervous too! I got rejected by UCLA, waitlisted at UCSD, accepted at UCD. I also got accepted to JHU
So what’s the probability that cal is releasing the decisions this friday? I hope they stick to their trend and release a week after LA. Can’t wait any longer!!!
Figured I’d share my stats thus far somewhere:
10/11 GPA- 3.9 UW, 4.3 W
SAT- 1460, 770 M, 690 CRW
Pretty decent extracurriculars, lots of arts and some clubs. Number of AP’s, only 2 passes though (a 3 & a 4 in World and US history, respectively) out of 5 tests
Accepted @ UW-Seattle, UC Davis, CSULB (LB resident), and UCSD
Rejected @ UCLA and Boston U
Waiting on: UCB, UCI, NYU, Tufts, Tulane, and Stanford
Applied for Arts and Sciences/Psychology everywhere (except Biomedical Eng @ CSULB)
I’m trying not to care too much but if you feel like chancing me I guess it wouldn’t hurt.
does anyone know how film major is evaluated at Cal?? i feel like my chances to get in are lower, got rejected by other competitive UC’s.
waiting to hear from : UCI, UCSB and CSU’s
