I got accepted at UCLA, but I am still incredibly nervous to hear from UCB. I didn’t really know I would consider staying in California for school, but now that I have the option to, I am rethinking my decision of going to the east coast.
@SweetCaliforniaWeather-12 My daughter also applied to film. Since there was no supplemental application, you can only be evaluated by the standard UC app. My daughter incorporated her love of film-making into her essays, She also made sure to include her film/video course work from community college. Film is in L&S so it shouldn’t make it easier nor harder to get in.
@kornido I’ve put a lot of energy while I was writing my essays so that they would show my creative side. I dont have a 4.0 gpa nor high sat scores so my chances to get in seem to be lower than average but still, we cant know til the decision comes. Ucla was and still is my dream school
Yes. My son did but it was last month. Good luck to you all. He’s CS, but not planning on going there as he got into CalTech…so hopefully it opens a spot for someone
So does anyone know what day portals will officially update? I’m curious
What time did decisions come out last year?
UCLA cares for perfect GPA much more than SAT scores. You can be a big fish in a small pond and get into UCLA. UCB is the opposite.
If I got into UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, and UCLA, do I have a shot for Berkeley?
Hi All,
With only one week to go, thought I wish everyone good luck!! Waiting is so hard.
STATS:
Female
OOS
ACT: 35
GPA: 4.5W
APs (Lang, Lit, Biology, Chemistry, Cal. BC, US History, Human Geo, Micro) all 5s except one - 4

Good luck to everyone again.
How impacted is Political Science here? I heard it was a few years ago, but not anymore.
@hopelessinOC I’m Valedictorian of my class, so I have the highest GPA in my school, but I was rejected from UCLA. 4 girls with lower GPA’s from my school got in.
Hey guys,
I’m wondering how likely it is that I get into UC Berkeley.
Took 2 APs all of high school (4 on AP psych and currently in AP Calc AB) and many honors.
28 ACT, 29 superscore
UC GPA unweighted is 4.0 and UC GPA weighted capped is 4.3 (around 4.5-4.6 uncapped)
Good ECs and good essays in my opinion
Accepted at: CSUN, LMU, Chapman (offered 26k per year), UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, and cal poly SLO
Waitlisted at: UCLA
Waiting for: UC Berkeley, USC, and UCSB
Thank you!
Is there something like if you get accepted to UCLA, it is likely you’ll get denied from UCB?
@Dovahkiin012200 So sorry to hear about UCLA. It is always upsetting when you work so hard and others get it. Sometimes the university think you will select an ivy or Berkeley over them when you are Valedictorian. So they reject you to raise their applicants’ acceptance rate. Last year’s Valedictorian was rejected from three safety schools but accepted to Yale, Princeton, Brown and Duke.
If I got accepted to UCSD and rejected to UCLA, how likely is it that I’ll get into Berkeley? I have a 3.7 gpa with 14 APs

Hi, I was wondering what our shots of guessing correctly who gets admitted or not are?
Seriously, stop asking for chancing guys…
Any ideas as to when decisions are released?
Hey guys just wanted to share that on the UC website they confirmed the release date would be March 29th.
http://admissions.berkeley.edu/counselors-colleagues
“Freshman admissions decisions will be released on March 29, 2018. Here is our freshman decision counselor guide to assist freshman applicants.”
I will still trust my gut and my resources with the expectance of decision results this friday! at least it is better than expecting to wait a week longer
