@preppedparent My hubby is a Bruin too! But S is very happy at Cal with his brother, and it saves us in-state a lot of money, so no complaints.
@BrKmNk UCSD released at 4:30, UCSB at 2pm, and UCD at 2pm so not all of the UC’s release at 5…
@collegesavant1 I think it’ll still probably be 5 though as their email on feb 10 said “Freshman decisions will be released approximately late afternoon / early evening (Pacific time) on March 29, 2018”
I can’t wait over a week, really hoping they decide to release earlier considering that the portal does say on or before the 29th, not likely though
so is Berkeley set to release for the 29th? Saw somewhere that it’s projected to release this friday @huanhoy
If you applied for engineering, but don’t get in, will they put you into undeclared for college of letters and science?
@LockheedMartin: No. Either you get admitted to the engineering major, or you get rejected. (Or waitlisted)
Does applying to Computer Science in Letters and Science put me at a disadvantage over people who applied as an another major in Letters and Science?
@Dovahkiin012200: no, major is not considered in application process for the College of Letters and Science
are you waitlisted for general admission or for your major?
@rocket88 Thanks
Do you get admitted directly to your engineering major (eg. EECS) or to the College of Engineering?
where did u see that? if u go to the UC Berkeley admissions website and school to the bottom it says freshman decision day is the 29th

Looks like they released the statistical estimates for international students for Fall 2018 though. Merely 1300 selections?
http://admissions.berkeley.edu/international-students
after a phat L from UCLA, i don’t have much hope for berkeley since I tried to change out from EECS but wouldn’t let me (they probably already made a decision at that point ugh)
Is Bioengineering at Berkeley ABET accredited?
I’m out of state. Got waitlisted at UCLA, accepted by UCSB. Don’t know if I will be accepted by UCB. Is there a correlation?
@FiringSquad Not really. Acceptance at UCSB is not indicative of your chances at Berkeley. Neither does being waitlisted at UCLA mean you won’t get Berkeley.
Just curious - Has anyone received even promo emails from UCB lately? D last received the Feb 26’s “Meet the Students: First Year Pathways” email.
