Might not be a bad idea, go for it!

Yeah, I can’t call today
but I fully support your idea hahaha

that sounds like a good idea and maybe the only way we will get some answers.. please let us know if you call!

Please post if anyone have updates. I am a mom of senior. Over time observed so many kids just settled down from different waitlisted schools in last few weeks.Don’t know how long we need to wait.

I called. They still don’t know when they’ll begin taking people off the waitlist. But they did say they will take very little off the waitlist. I asked how much and they said comparable to the past year. RIP

oh bruh
can’t say but this is just a pathetic school for making us wait so long with ZERO clear communication regarding waitlists and in general whatsoever. didn’t expect much with this WL and now I’m just mad they are stalling in June
they’ve really tested my patience lol

do u think u were talking to an ao? i know what they said is probably right but i dont want to tear my hopes down completely :sob:

Same
I imagined it would be similar to last year’s waitlist, but I won’t give up still.

can someone try calling again? I won’t accept it lol

I mean to be fair, the front desk people don’t exactly have a track record of saying correct information lol
Also, its much easier (and safer) for them to say that they won’t accept many rather than saying that they will accept more

I wish they start to take the students from the wait list and close the chapter. So we know a definite answer instead of standing nowhere. Praying good luck for all of you.

yeah
but we don’t know if they actually talked with an AO

that’s true, but considering that it’s now june and we have no movement makes me think that even if it wasn’t an ao, they’re probably right. still hoping that i’m wrong tho

yeah
but being optimistic here, maybe if there will be little to no movement at all, wouldn’t they send something like warning? I know NYU did that and someone here said Berkeley did the same last year

so maybe we might still have a chance
I asked my counselor if she could contact an AO to ask for some info, so I’ll wait to see if she will come back with good news lol (or any news really)

I suspect it is an AO though (he called rather than joining the virtual front desk). Another possible method of obtaining a definitive answer is asking your counsellor to contact the admission office. I remember last year it was a counsellor who emailed and received the answer of that the waitlist is basically closed. I do think it’s basically GG now.

have any of you guys emailed your regional aos regarding this? last time i sent mine something she did not reply but this might also be a good way of getting some info

It’s baffling to see that literally every other school has something meaningful to about waitlists when we call them but Berkeley wants to be all so special and wants to hide away from us. Honestly, I’d just take this silence as a rejection and move on since this lack of transparency seems like they don’t care about waitlists.
