wait can you link the sheets?

Not that we will get a different answer, but did anyone join the virtual front desk or plans on calling today?

if anyone plans on joining the zoom today, could u ask if they plan on taking anyone off from cnr?

wait how do yk that they moved to transfers?

They said so in a call. I saw that in an earlier post on this forum.

i guess nothing today either

can they at least reject the appeals kids already, last year they released those decisions in mid june

Tbh hanging the appeal kids is way more atrocious than not giving waitlist updates. Like bro, if you are not even accepting >10 of the waitlist kids, why are you hanging all the appeal kids?

ngl i’ve given up. planning next year’s courses for a potential uc to uc transfer to berkeley but if that doesn’t work out either it’s fine

Just curious, which UC are you planning to transfer from? Typically what are the chances of inter-UC transfer?

Back in April, when I was deciding between colleges, I thought, “Well, I’ll enroll at UCSD or UCI, and maybe it’ll be easier to transfer to UCB later.” But it’s not that simple. Although UCB does have a higher transfer acceptance rate, they place significant emphasis on applicants coming from California community colleges. If you’re already enrolled in another UC, they might ask: Why are you leaving a strong school to come here? What kind of opportunities, community, or campus culture are you missing that you believe Berkeley offers?

What is the F1 visa status ? Are students getting visas ?

If they are international, yeah. The F1 visa is for international students going to study in the US. You need to have an official document from your university (the I-20) to start the visa process, which will be an interview and social media analysis if I’m not mistaken, and then you might be granted a study visa.

So F1 Visas are being given with some scrutiny on the social media status of the student. UCB takes in probably the most international students. Maybe they’re waiting on how many can actually get a visa and come, hence the delay in waitlist/appeal decisions ?

That might be influencing the process, yeah. Since F-1 visa interviews were canceled over the past few weeks and only resumed 2–3 days ago, it’s possible that’s why they’re holding off on releasing any updates. If that’s the case, we might hear something soon… but honestly, I’m not sure if that’ll happen.

If anyone does get off the waitlist, I think it’ll happen around mid-July, followed by the waitlist officially closing. But hey, let’s stay hopeful! Maybe we’ve just overanalyzed the whole thing!

yeah also because of the july 1 transcript deadline bc you can just straight up lie about your grades on the app and there might be a few people rescinded because of that
