I understand the financial side of things with International & out of state students. It’s nerve wracking to explain this to my daughter who is waitlisted at CAL how the system works. Months of waiting. Any English majors on the WL?
I’ve been checking everyday- it’s disheartening to see other universities drawing from their waitlists as of last week, am a bit sad there was no movement this week (for Cal residents.)
My son is already committed elsewhere, but my heart goes out for the Californians for whom this is their dream and have worked so hard.
Hopefully people will get notified soon!

Hope this is not the end. Is there anyone who got off the WL? Has anyone emailed or called the admissions office?

Once a space is offered off the WL, a student has seven days to commit. I think it’s fair to speculate that another round will happen this Thursday or Friday. Hopefully some California residents this time around.

My son just accepted his housing deposit and signed up for his orientation at another UC.
If he is offered a spot at Berkeley, is he allowed out of his housing contract with the other UC? My understanding was he had only a week to accept his housing contract or else he would lose his 4 yr on- campus housing guarantee.

How does a student send their final transcript to a waitlisted UC if they are accepted after the high school registrar leaves for the summer? Our registrar can only send transcripts for a few more days and then doesn’t return until after Berkeley starts. No one else can send official transcripts and the office closes for the summer.

I would recommend you talk to the school counselor. In our case with my D24, there’s a person at the school district who has access to transcripts to be able to send them out during the summer.

Yesterday was the deadline for last round of waitlist admission on May 22. I suppose they should send out some more today?
