UC Berkeley Freshman Class of 2028 Waitlist/Appeal Discussion

I hope so! Heard UCLA had another wave just a few hrs ago.

Maybe it’s getting ready for a BiG wave? :ocean:

I really hope so. I’ve been checking this thread multiple times a day for any updates. My son committed to UC San Diego but would gladly go to Berkeley if he gets off the waitlist. I think I’m more stressed than he is. Trying to not get my hopes up.

I know how it works at Berkeley and I am guessing it is similar at other UCs. You break your housing contract and forfeit the deposit. This happens every year for a variety of reasons.

Are grades final at your school? If so, send now - most schools have an online system for transcripts now. If not, ask a counselor. Every university wants transcripts over the summer so your school must have some system in place.

That’s the only mention I’ve seen of an in state person getting offered a spot, I’ve been checking every day- it’s hard if you only have a week to decide/respond/ plus my teen has a schedule change he’d have to get approved by admissions first.
So it would be nice to have the full week to think it over- get the info to admissions so they have time to ok it or not.)

Does someone want to call and ask for any updates :kissing_closed_eyes:

I believe in you

I called and spoke to a counselor. They just said what is already published… meaning you should expect to hear now to July 31 on a rolling basis but they did not say anything about any specific date.
Also is varies from major to major.
So no nee information really…just keep waiting

Thank you for sharing the information. At least , it seems that they will use the waitlist on a rolling basis, if read between the lines:) since it has been so quiet, I am afraid they might not need to use the waitlist if their yield is high enough
