I guess that’s one way to manifest .
My son is on the waitlist and will have to submit a senior year class schedule change to admissions if admitted off the waitlist.
Wondering how this will work if he has a short turnaround time to decide on a possible future offer?
For other campuses, they said to allow up to a 2 weeks for their response to the class schedule change. And luckily, the other UCs responded quickly and said his admission offer still will be valid with the senior year schedule change.
You might want to email admissions and ask if you can submit the schedule change now since he is on the waitlist.
I sent a LOCI because I couldn’t find anywhere in the waitlist faqs or on the website where it specifically said not to send it. Then like an hour ago I was going over the faq again and I think they updated it ?? To say no LOCI. because I’m so sure they originally didn’t say anything about it before. Should I email and say I didn’t see it and to disregard it or ?? But I’m so sure it didn’t say anything before about not sending a letter specifically. This is bothering me SO MUCH.
I understand how it would bother you, but don’t worry. They will probably just ignore the LOCI you sent. I wouldn’t bother contacting them about it. I’m sure you aren’t the only student who did this.
Last year my son was in the same situation. He sent an updated transcript because it seemed that they might want it, then they clarified on the web site that they didn’t want any updates unless students were specifically asked. He worried that he had done the wrong thing by not following instructions. In the end it didn’t interfere with him getting accepted off the WL.
Hi my daughter got waitlisted to uci and to ucb, ucsd, ucla she sent an appeal as she had some new information to share and while applying she had messed up with the major choice.
Any idea if uci waitlist got out ? How about appeals, anyone know if there have been success with other students with their appeal, and when do they come out ?
UCI admitted a few Engineering majors but I have not seen appeals. Each campus will evaluate appeals on a different schedule since they do not set aside spots for appealing students, they may wait until they exhaust the waitlist first.
UCB states the following:
Appeals completed by April 15 will be considered on time and will receive a response by August 2024.
Does UCB admit off the waitlist based on the majors the students applied for? Or does everyone get admitted into letters and sciences. Would I have a better chance getting off the waitlist if I requested to change my major to another major that admits more freshmen or not?
During the waitlist process you may be admitted off the waitlist with your primary major or your alternate major. You cannot request a major change while on the waitlist.
Anyone know if UC Berkeley’s waitlist is need blind/aware? Hypotactically, would rescinding my application for financial aid increase my chances off the waitlist? (In-State)
hypothetically*
UC doesn’t care if you ask for FA.
UC Berkeley is need blind so financial aid and your ability to pay is not taken into consideration for admission decisions.
ok thanks, because I saw someone say Barnard’s waitlist is need-aware although admissions is need-blind unsure how true that is but currently waitlisted at Berkeley (dream school) so thought I’d ask.
How does UC Berkeley’s waitlist work if it’s not ranked and there’s no LOCI? I assume they’re broken out by majors but from there is it randomized or lottery as spots become available? Is it first come, first served?
Also, Do we expect any movement before the May 15th deadline? My daughter’s friend said she got off the waitlist in late April last year but I don’t know if she has the dates right.
Last year I believe that the first wave of waitlist acceptances was May 8.
Here is last years waitlist timeline.
2023 Timeline: Several Engineering admits and a few L&S May 8. College of Chemistry Chem Eng, Unspecified Eng, Architecture May 23. Few Econ admits June 20. Admits on July 5 L&S, COE and CNR. A few alternate major admits noted. Denials posted on July 21. Rare admits July 24.
In 2022: admits started May 11.
How students are admitted off the waitlist is up to UC Berkeley admissions to determine based on their institutional priorities and spots open.
Hi. Did any waitlisted student get Forbidden in the Cal Net Account manager portal astrology yet?
FYI, last year, waitlisted students did not start to see “forbidden” until May 5th, a few days before the first round of waitlist acceptances.
I have not but i would assume its a bit too early for that and i would assume that the waitlist movement would happen after the 15th since that’s the SIR deadline.
