FWIW, I did not expect my son to be admitted for engineering. It would have been a big reach.
Starting to look like a major screw up on their part?
One more data point: I changed the email from the one on the application to my personal email and was able to register. So itās not some kind of whitelist on admits to register, but could potentially be a blacklist on rejections. Very odd.

Yah, there is way too many that can register for it to be a positive sign. Iād say if anything its a sign of rejection

Agree on the first statement, but not the āsign of rejectionā part.
We are OOS so that puts us at a disadvantage. But yes, he has very high stats and has already been accepted to several top schools. Not all that interested in Berkeley so not too concernedā¦just interesting and fun to follow these theories!

I donāt see how that can be, when you can register with emails not associated with an application.
Per the website, the March 21 date covers the global and freshman program and is only for applicants to College of Letters and Science, Rausser College of Natural Resources, or Haas Global Management Program. The other two dates in April are open to applicants to all schools.
I agree I think it is likely meaningless.

I donāt see how being able to register for admitted student zooms is a sign of rejection. I do agree it doesnāt mean much.
Also hard to see how it could be ārandomā. Itās definitely differentiating between application email addresses. I think thereās a fair chance being unable to register means youāve been rejected.
Donāt know why, but I was unable to register from my common app email ID. It worked with my personal ID. Is it something related to being rejected?
Are you an engineering applicant? The global edge program is only for students at select colleges (see above list)
agree. Especially given people like me are unable to register to any of the stuff (we have been trying since the email came out, and others who tried later are able to register so it cant be a zoom limit)ā¦ my sense is if you are unable to register more likely of a rejection
