Mine still says June 30 for some reason
Yes. S24 got off UC Davis’s waitlist in second week for Aerospace Engineering last year. Good Luck.
Off waitlist (undeclared - Humanities). Had committed to Oregon (undeclared - Social Sciences.) Need to make choice in the next 24 hrs.
Might the next wave be today?
didnt get anything
Hi,
Has anyone heard back from the Agriculture and Environmental Science college yet for Waitlist decisions.
Does anyone know if yield rate is also high for this college.
Thank you
Bay Area daughter chose UCI and hated it. Commuter school - completely dead on weekends. Son chose Davis over UCSB - major was main factor - LOVES IT at UCD. Fit is different for everyone. UCI is not a sought after school for CITY private school kids.
Why did your daughter hated it- just because it is dead on weekends?? Maybe you have an insight of why UCI has the highest percentage of Asian (39%) among all UCs. It always puzzles me why it is so popular among Asian.

@sfbayareaforuc I do not have insight into the % of Asians.
However, with respect to commuter-vibe, this chart shows that 36% of all UCI students (freshman, sophomore, juniors, seniors) commute vs. 42% off campus vs. 23% on campus: https://www.ucop.edu/enrollment-services/data-and-reporting/student-budget-tables/smb-202425_v3_fads.pdf
This 36% is the highest % of commuters of all UC campuses with UC Riverside next at 31%.
Commuter is defined on page 10 https://www.ucop.edu/enrollment-services/data-and-reporting/student-budget-tables/coas23-report_draft_020124_edits-accepted-a11y-updates.pdf as living with parents/legal guardians or other relatives.
I haven’t heard of anyone hearing back for Ag/EnviSci College, myself included! There could have been admittances but I’ve yet to see any.
Here were UC Davis’s yield rates in 2024 by residency (per the UC Info Center):
In-state - 21% yield
Out-of-state - 5% yield
International - 11% yield
Right around the middle for in-state UC yield rates. UCI, UCSD, UCLA, and Berkeley had higher yield rates than Davis for in-state students, while UCSB, UCSC, UCR, and UCM had lower yield rates than Davis for in-state students.
Thanks for your response, hoping we can get off the waitlist!
Agree! We absolutely got this, here’s hoping for another wave soon and good news for us both!
From an Asian parent. UCi is popular for Asian students because large Asian popular in SoCal and many families don’t want to send kids far from home and many kids want to come home in weekends
As an Asian parent who lives in socal, we saw the disproportionately high Asian student population as a negative.
Although we wanted our son to go to school with a lot of Asians to “find” his culture, the real world isn’t built this way.
Uci is known to have a high commuter population and one of the worst college experiences (for UC schools) so we chose ucsb.
me neither! im still waiting
We got this! Good luck! : )
Is it possible that the next wave is later today?
Lots of different cities and high schools in the Bay Area with different preferences. At our large Bay Area high school, Irvine is not especially popular, although I see a definite uptick after COVID. Pre-COVID most years there were zero kids listed as attending Irvine (of course there might have been a few not listed). Post-COVID, about 10 kids per year. Acceptance rate from our HS seems pretty similar to statewide Irvine acceptance rate in all years.
More kids choose Davis, which has always been fairly popular at our HS.
Davis has a reputation at our HS of having a great student experience and optimal balance of academic rigor with friendly student life, and we have known multiple kids choosing Davis over UCLA and/or UCB (and other UCs of course). Some kids would rather go to southern CA, and some kids see Irvine as more prestigious due to a lower acceptance rate. I expect this last factor might change, as it seems Davis is seeing an increase in applications lately.
Good luck to all waiting
To show geographic origins within 50 mile radius of a UC campus, I’m including info from the UC Accountability report that usually comes out in July. The links and images below are from the 2024 Accountability report for Fall 2023.
1.4.3 UC campuses draw freshmen from nearby regions and the major urban areas of California, with a systemwide 50-mile radius local attendance rate of 34 percent.
1.4.4 Local area enrollment rates for transfers are higher than for freshmen, with 47 percent enrolling at a UC campus within 50 miles of their homes.
Just to clarify, the percentages shown in the graphic represent the % of students from the local area surrounding each UC campus?
