Sorry, only admissions will know if there are any spots still available.
It’s now 6pm PST on the last work day before June 30th and…nada.
I’m sorry, but I don’t think it’s too much to ask that the admissions office send an update at this point, or at least change their stated deadline on the portal.
Agree! University of Michigan just sent ‘waitlist closed’ email. Can we just hear from the school and move on!
On what day did Davis closed their waitlist last year?
UC Davis sent out denials on June 21 and June 28. They closed the waitlist on June 28 last year.
Shouldn’t we have a response by today?
There is no set date on when they close the waitlist especially since they extended the SIR deadline to May 15th instead of the May 1 deadline from previous years. They will close the waitlist when they have reached their enrollment targets so it could extend until middle of July.
On the WL page, it says: “We will notify you of our final admission decision by email and on this website no later than June 30.”
I don’t mind them extending this, especially with all the FAFSA drama, but I also don’t think a courtesy email is too much to ask. We’ve been checking the site daily since early March.
nearly 12am july 1st and still no reply…do we think davis will extend the waitlist deadline?
i would assume that they would start sending waitlist rejections but sometimes it does drag on for certain majors
Just spoke with UCD Admissions and they said they are not closing the waitlist and that students can continue to be accepted throughout the summer. I voiced my frustration with this process and lack of communication with the waitlist community that still has a message stating we will find out no later than June 30th. This is very unprofessional and frustrating. My son enrolled at SDSU and attends an orientation this month that requires plane tickets, a hotel, fees to attend, etc. He accepted SDSU in April and we planned everything based on the idea that we would have a final decision by June 30th. Now, after the “deadline” we find out that there is no timeline at all. This is ridiculous and a broken system.
At least they updated the verbiage on the site:
Agree…this is ridiculous. My kid is never going to fully commit to the school that chose her while UC Davis remains even a slim possibility. I hate this.
On my son’s portal it is stated:
Thank you for accepting our waitlist offer. Please be patient, the waitlist process may take some time. We will notify you of our final admission decision by email and on this website no later than June 30.
That’s what we had too until literally about 15 minutes ago.
Just spoke to someone at admissions and they said the waitlist is moved to July 30. Very frustrating
thanks for sharing!
Just got a no. Disappointed, but at least it’s an answer.
same here but I’m sure we’re bound to thrive academically elsewhere! I believe there’s always a reason why everything happens! Best of luck to our future academic endeavors!
They finally sent me an update and rejected me.
also got a no. just glad the waiting is finally over.
