***UC Irvine Class of 2020 Admissions Results/Stats Discussion***

Got my package! So cute haha

still nothing. out of state wtf

How’s UC Santa Barbara compared to UC Irvine for accounting? Internship opportunities?

Locked

For internship opportunities it will always depend on how you personally decide to go about finding them (if it’s your number 1 priority as opposed to something else IE a double major, an academic club, a Fraternity/Sorority)

However, bigger cities will offer more internship opportunities because they will have more companies in general. The population of Orange County is substantially larger than Santa Barbara County.

Rankings for undergraduate programs tend to be limited, and I was not able to find business undergraduate rankings that I really trusted the source for. USNWR is a decent source in my opinion, but it is not the gospel by any means.

Here’s how they ranked some business graduate programs in 2015 I believe

7

University of California—Berkeley (Haas)

Berkeley, CA

48
(Tied)
University of California—Irvine (Merage)

Irvine, CA

77

Tie
University of California—San Diego (Rady)

San Diego, CA

Unranked
University of California—Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara, CA

Note that these are Graduate school rankings, which is not the program you are interested in, but sometimes they can offer insight into the schools undergraduate programs. Graduate programs also have an impact on what type of networking the school offers for ungraduated internships.

Anyone who sent appeal to uci, did ur portal change?

Yes, my son sent an appeal and his portal changed to “Appeal pending.” Meanwhile we have moved on and assumed that nothing will come of it. In fact, after touring what used to be his “back-ups” again, we learned more that turned them into (possibly) higher choices/better fits than UCI, so you never know how things will develop…

when does the waitlist decisions come out??? Still expecting to get in UCI

hopefully it’ll out by the end of May!

How long does it take to change portal to appeal pending? I sent appeal on this monday. Im afraid if letter went wrong adress

Well waitlist and appeals are now sealed. good luck to ya fellow brothers and sisters

i sure hope they start accepting waitlist acceptance in April just like two years ago…

I e-mailed them if they have a ranking system for waitlist and they said this: Not at this point, we don’t even know if we will
even draw from the wait list and won’t know until
after May 1st.

@gumbymom this may be a stretch, but do you still have the link to the stats for all uc acceptances, waitlist admissions, appeal admissions etc by number? I remember you posting it about a month ago but I can’t find it. Thanks!

I only found the one from 2014. the 2015 link should be around pages 190-200

I’m still deciding whether to go or not… I don’t want to regret my decision so that’s why I haven’t committed to UCI yet. I guess I’m leaning more towards USF since it’s more realistic and less stressful. They gave me direct entry to their nursing program with the addition of a huge scholarship. I want to go to UCI for its prestige, amazing academics, and campus/location. But in the end it’s not the school that defines your success, it’s what you make out of the education given to you. I don’t know if attending UCI with the constant reminder that I turned down my major at another school and must receive a C or higher in every prerequisite class is ideal for me. I don’t want to go to school with that on my mind everyday. The slim chances of reapplying to the nursing program with the addition of academic pressure is exceptionally burdensome and questionable. I’m still figuring out what to do even though the deadline to SIR is coming up.

Congratulations to all the applicants who were accepted & to the people who were rejected, you’ll find happiness and success wherever you go!

I just got my acceptance today from the waitlist!! Good luck to everyone that’s waiting for an answer!

If I haven’t heard anything yet is that a bad sign or is there still a chance?
