Does anybody have an idea of the size of those who accepted to be on the waitlist this year? The admission office said they will have the info after the 15th but I havent been able to call them because of their hours.
Also is mechanical engineering an impacted program? I know for certain comp engineering is but how is mechanical engineering? Because thats the major I was waitlisted for!
@TaterCrisps I don’t know about this year, but last year over 7,000 were offered places on the waitlist. A little over 3,000 accepted a spot on the waitlist and only 45 got in. Keep your hopes up though, I was waitlisted for UC Irvine under Computer Science and I’m still hoping!
As for mechanical engineering, all engineering majors at all UCs are impacted, as far as I know. Hope this helped!
I heard in 2014, out of 3300 waitlist offers, about 1500 opted in and around 1200 got in. I sure hope its 2014 again. and it seems not many people around me are applying to Irvine this year (only a handful) but we’ll see.
I sure hope I will get in.
Also what made waitlist offer become doubled in one year from 3000 something to 7000?Thats just crazy. I know even more people applied to UCI this year but it seems not that many were waitlisted. again I only know couple people who got waitlisted and NUMEROUS people who gave up their spot at UCI for other schools.
So heres hoping to that miracle of 2012 and 2014 of almost everyone on waitlist getting in because I heard each year is different but it seems even years seems to be the lucky one! I also turned in a waitlist appeal so let’s hope we make it! You and me both
Any new update on those who got accepted on waitlist for UCI? It’s May 1st this this weekend and the time is slowly coming. I heard they also don’t update your admission portal on weekends. Is that true? Can anyone confirm
@TaterCrisps i got waitlisted as of 2:50PM today. how long am i supposed to wait for their decision? i dont wanna miss out on other dates. i feel so risky
@isaypwnsj00 I’m guessing you are a transfer student? For freshman applicants, most figure out after May 1st which is the SIR date for all schools. However for transfers I believe it is different. You should call the office
LOL didn’t get in UCI. But tbh wouldn’t have gone anyways. UCI is great academically, but the reputation as a commuter school reigns true despite the campus vibe. Really great place, but honestly just wasn’t my scene
