It seems like UCSD is selecting people off waitlist based on major. Does anyone know how second and third choice majors are viewed when selecting people off the waitlist?

no, i donāt know when the next wave is. no i donāt know if you have a shot. no, i wasnāt waitlisted, but i have a couple friends here who were and got admitted (obviously).

My son was accepted off the waitlist today! Cog Sci major. Email came at 4pm. This was a grueling wait, and Iām still thinking and wishing the best for others on this forum.

For my son it took 2 days to activate triton link and ucsd emai.I am sure you will have few days to take the decision. Better to ask AO.

im waitlisted for ucsd biochem and rn im enrolled at cal poly slo for animal science. Im having on and off debates of whether if I get off the waitlist if I should go. Like ucsd stem is super good but slo animal science is such a good program as well. do you have any insight abt the stem life/opportunities at ucsd?
My son has a lifelong friend at UCSD as a biochem major, finishing his 2nd year, and he is quite happy there. The program is good and he says there isnāt a lot to complain about as far as heās concerned.
My daughter was accepted to CP SLO this year for Mech Eng, and struggled with deciding. She ultimately went with UCSB for chem (WL for Eng) after weeks of wavering.
I donāt know where youāre from but we are from the Central Valley and ultimately she decided that CP felt too much like where she had lived all her life and thought Santa Barbara would be a good change for her.
SLO is a great choice and if animal science is really what you want you are in a great school. If you donāt come off the WL at SD you have a good spot there.

My son got off the UCSD waitlist today for Business Economics. He is still waitlisted for UCLA.
