Do you this waitlist is done? Or they just got lazy this week to look at the data based off their deadline on Wednesdayđ They didnât do a wave May 2⊠so im hoping the wave is bigger next week.
ik this is ucsd forum but I got an email for UCI saying theres a status update at 5 pm but theres no update on my portal
brother it is not done no waitlist is gonna close in two weeks. relax there will be more waves
maybe theyâre just pulling a uc berkeley from last year
My Dâs friend got off today too. Maybe a small wave? In-state. Psych.
lets say that ucsd had like 1000 spots still needing to be filled. if they released 1000 waitlist acceptances last friday and most people accepted then wouldnât the waves get smaller each time

ucsd lets in by major spots they need to fill and we still havenât heard from multiple departments yet. so technically we shouldnât be done and there will be waves coming
No I do not think the waitlist admits are completed but there is no specific pattern of when they will post their decisions so everyone just needs to be patient and wait for an update.

how sure are we though that the departments we havenât heard from yet we will hear from? i feel like itâs possible we arenât hearing from because they donât need to be heard from (already reached enrollment targets right off the bat with outright admits committing)?
no one is sure on anything, thatâs just how this process goes. whatâs the point in considering a worst-case scenario like that tho. Sure, thereâs a chance that all of the waitlists could already be out, but thereâs also a chance that they release thousands of more people. thereâs no point worrying yourself about the worst-case scenario when realistically none of us have an idea of those types of chances. if you really want to get in just keep hoping for the best case and be patient instead of worrying about stuff like that, also ik these forums are good for regular acceptance but iâd lowkey only check it conservatively for when it comes to the waitlist since the process is more stressful and random.

ive seen mentions of ppl getting off for cog sci major and ppl getting off for psych, has anyone gotten off for the Psychology: Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscience (joint major)?

Does anyone know if UCSD admission office looks at the 2nd 1/2 of senior year grade when they make decision if you are off waitlist or not?
No, if they did they would have asked for waitlisted students to update their grades.
Anyone heard back for chem or molecular synthesis? I really want to get in. If no one has heard back does that better my chances or make them worse? Like has the wave just not come out yet or do they not have any spots?
Seeing last Fridayâs wave, it was mainly psych or undeclared. I just heard about two people from my class got off 5/16. Hoping theyâll analyze the data based off who committed on Wednesday and have another wave.
