what does appeal pending/under consideration mean?
Also, does anyone think any appeals will be accepted after June 1st? Like, looking back to the past few years threads for appeals, obviously, this year is different. Additionally, she also has her personal info at the top too like her name and ID and apparently it wasn’t there before. Sorry, I am asking for a friend as she appealed to UCI as well and hasn’t received any news back yet
@samkr14 According to previous year threads and reddit, people have gotten off the first week of June (June 5th,6th, 7th). Even though this year is different, I believe that more are coming out. Plus, the waitlist hasn’t closed yet and it usually closes the last week of may. Have hope!!!

One more question is if the waitlist closes, that means there’s probably no chance for appeals right?
@samkr14 Not necessarily, but I could be wrong. Every year is different.

There is a person who got into UCI on the UC Berkeley Appeal thread today
@CBCoffee I don’t think they got in today itself. They probably used the same appeal that they used for Berkeley in UCI as well
@CBCoffee that person did not hear today itself. They posted two days ago on this thread they received their UCI appeal acceptance on May 29th
I’m surprised many decisions haven’t come out. You’d think that after hearing about one acceptance more would be coming out.
@okayokayokay I feel like most colleges right now are in the process of calculating their yields and class sizes before they send out any more appeal/waitlist decisions
One question though, have any UCI appeals come out earlier than May 29th?
Also, my friend was chatting with an admissions counselor and this is what they said:
Applicants will receive an email communication to check the Applicant Portal for admissions status when an appeal decision has been made. The majority of reviews will be completed by late July/early August. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a more exact estimate.
Students will receive an email notifying them that their admissions status has changed and will prompt students to log into their Applicant Portal.
I doubt it would go until late july/early august because that’s when registering for classes goes on but with COVID, everything is so unpredictable right now. I hope all of you receive your decisions this month!
