IKR @Mysonsdad Maybe this is helping their psychology department xD
Maybe we can find an identifiable pattern when/if UCLA sends out another promotional email.
@Mysonsdad thanks! I hope you are accepted too!
I don’t think UCLA expected us to pick up such a small detail. Lol
They should accept all of us for our obvious passion for the school xD
prays O:-)
HAHAHA I’ve bookmarked 6 different rumor discussions xD #help
@jackisawesome no scholarship invite. What is regents? I got the supplemental questionnaire.
Regents is an invite by the university into honors college, along with an invitation to apply for a scholarship or the reception of a scholarship. However, while in 99.9% cases it is indicative of acceptance to the university, there are always a few super weird situations where someone is accepted honors, but is rejected by the university.
I got the Alumni scholarship invite, can I assume that my GPA and SAT are very competitive for UCLA? 2120 SAT and 4.87 Weighted GPA (4.27 UC GPA).
Also, with great extracurriculars and good essays, should I be fairly confident (nothing is for certain) that I’ll be accepted? MY GOD I’m starting to get nervous guys, where is my chill
Did your daughter receive an interview for TFT? My son didn’t, but did receive Alumni Scholarship Invite. I’m assuming since no interview, he won’t be admitted.
@dreambig98 Yeah, if you got the alumni scholarship invite you’re definitely highly competitive. You should also feel reasonably confident about getting an admit, but don’t convince yourself it’s a certainty just in case something goes wrong (but I honestly think you’ll end up pretty happy when March 18 or whenever rolls by). And don’t worry - everyone’s chill seemed to have dried up a little from all the endless, exhausting, all-consuming waiting. In 2 weeks people on CC might just start getting primal and turn back into apes…
LOL I’ve never had a chill xD @hiddenfalls but on a more serious note, we all have gotten so much crazier
@hiddenfalls Thank you!! That definitely helps, I’m in state as well. Just a month ago I was feeling pretty good, but now I’m like slightly on edge. LOL I KNOW It’s so hard to chill
OMG! This is going to be the longest 19 days of my life!!!
Time will fly by, since most of us are also waiting for other UC’s. UCR starts Tuesday and middle tier UC’s are next week.
We’ve waited this long! We can make it.
TG I have half-days Thursday and Friday! I am going to have to preoccupy my time outside of school AND outside of the house, because as of currently, I check my email every 3 minutes
My S also received “Find your place at UCLA” email today at 8:00 AM PST. I think this email belongs to promotional category. I have a different theory for students getting this email at different times.
Every student when applied to UC got an applicant id, most probably an auto generated sequence number which follows some internal established rules and UCLA may have an extra ID for their applicants. This being promotional email, UCLA planed to send it to say 100,000 applicants and just for discussion sake lets assume that there are about 15,000 hotmail accounts. Its quite possible that Microsoft Exchange Server has inbuilt spam checks and when it sees that 15,000 emails are hitting it at the same time from the same source address and same size, it may reject/treat those emails differently. That may be one of the reasons UCLA is sending out emails in smaller batches (e.g. 1000 each) and they may be creating these batches based on Applicant ID which has nothing to do with first name or last name or specific major or geography.
I guess my daughter is not the only kid that freaks out on seeing an email from a college in her list. The last few dozens of pages have been fun. She got the alumni scholarship invitation (which supposedly is material - but i will believe it when i see it) and then she got the “newbruins” email and then when she found out everyone got it it was another yay and then anti-climax day for her.
@Muttle1 Did your daughter get invited for the TFT interview?
