@Rahulbarcafan it was 2 essays you could elaborate on special circumstances or a talent/activity and report first semester senior year grades

EDIT: About the alumni scholarship–I received a call on top of the email. Does everyone who receives the invitation also receive the call, or…?
@glasshours not everyone gets calls too, but I think the calls depend on where you live.

Just received an email stating they received my app for the Alumni Scholarship. A part of it said:
In late March, admission notifications will be sent from the UCLA Undergraduate Admission Office. If admitted, your application will be reviewed by Alumni Scholarships Volunteers, who are dedicated alumni and friends of the university across the nation. Between April 6-10, high scoring applicants will then be invited for an interview at one of our regional sites or via Skype. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis. We will continue to notify recipients through August.
got that alumni email too.
I applied and didn’t receive that email–should I be concerned?
no @glasshours only 1/4 of those accepted get the email I believe
The email is just a confirmation that the alumni scholarship was received. They will probably get around to confirming all received applications. Most likely just takes time. Nothing open to interpretation with this one. Hang in there.

ok I know this has been asked and answered a million times but I just wanted to clarify. The UCLA alumni scholarship is only sent out to ~4,000 or so but everyone can apply. I received the invite to apply and I did. Although it’s not 100%, it’s overall a good sign I got the email/invite correct? I also received the invite for the Berkeley leadership but I think that’s sent out to everyone-not sure tho. Thanks everyone & good luck!!
LOL I meant that I received the invite, and proceeded to apply, but never got the confirmation email. Oh well, it says that my app was successfully submitted on my portal; won’t read into this, hopefully I’ll get the confirmation soon.
@itssophie the alumni invite is a good indication that you are an excellent candidate for general admission purposes, BUT it really depends as much on the specific college or major you applied to. For instance getting an alumni invite while applying to an extremely competitive program that only takes a few applicants (TFT takes only 30) is not as indicative of possible acceptance as a major that takes hundreds.
