maybe if they’re not able to admit any international students they’re gonna have to look at more waitlist spots. but then again, usually they have reserved spots for IS OOS and intl so not really sure if movement in one affects another
for those who got off the waitlist, how long did it take to receive your housing offers, if you’ve gotten them yet?
Within a week of applying for housing… S25 got informed along with the regular applicants, whose housing application deadline was May 2. He got off the waitlist on May 6, applied for housing around May 8/9.. got informed within a week.

I’m intl. stats and dsc major and have almost lost all hope, the only date i still expect something is this friday or then it’s over

also even though I’m studying international I do have a US residency, do you guys think that’ll make a difference given the political climate?
I refuse to lose hope until june ends 
getting a visa after june will be next to impossible, considering how trump has told US embassies all around the world to stop scheduling interviews for F1 visas.

from ucsd reddit, for this and last year I-20, it took about 5 weeks. need to plan carefully.

are these solid grounds for a deferment to next year should we get off?
UCLA rarely approves deferments so do not expect that this can be an option.

I just emailed them, and your visa/citizenship status isn’t considered when they review your application, so your chance of getting off the waitlist is probably the same regardless of these policies. Obviously getting a visa after admission is probably the bigger issue.
That’s weird, considering their “waves” are usually groupable by residence…
