UCLA Class of 2029 Waitlist and Appeals Discussion

Any International L&S majors?

Still waiting…

Transfers are getting admitted more rn with some today I think, I guess its time to give it up.

Transfer wl pool and freshman pool is seperate no?

Yes

So one has no bearing on the other? Doesnt it reduce spots regardless?

Thanks! I am most likely to decline my offer though so I think the waitlists will continue until the spots in the waitlists are filled up until people SIR

Appreciate the information! If you don’t mind sharing where have you committed to going? I know that the climate surrounding international students is pretty bad with this administration

Are you still planning to attend a US university? Just curious why you decided not to attend UCLA

I actually have a scholarship from Duke so my 4 years over there will surprising be cheaper than 4 years at a UC since UCs don’t give any aid to international students. Also I really connect with a specific program for my major at Duke University

My son is thinking the same, as much as I’d still love for him to get into UCLA. Maybe they’ll meet each other at the same honors program? (uci)

Hopefully he’ll be able to pass on an in-state Math spot - good luck, everyone!

so there’s been no in state l&s movement since the 24th?

DS committed to Schreyer’s honor’s at Penn state. if not for honors he would have taken the UCLA (which was his top choice). Honor’s reduces the burden a bit and OOS fee is cheaper by about 25% (now 35% due to scholarship) at Penn state (although that was not the breaking factor).
