Agreed!
I feel your pain, I hope you had rich uncle like my nephew does
U seem so supportive. Heās lucky to have someone like you. I wish my family cared abt my college stuff.
Thanks for your kind comments. I have to lift some burden for my sister.
I completely concur, but one should never attempt to persuade another based solely on their own self-interests.
I understand that the general consensus is that UCLA wonāt start pulling off until after the SIR date, but I wouldnāt be surprised if they started tomorrow. Looking back to last year, the first wave (April 28-29) lines up with tomorrow ish for timing. I know we wonāt know until it happens, but just a thought! Iām trying to stay hopeful and patient lol
Is there a certain time (based on past years) when the waitlist acceptances have come out? Morning, afternoon, etc?
The wave on May 6, 2023 was in the morning hours (around 8:00 AM PST).
Erm did anyone get an appeal response back
I was searching through different UC waitlist forums and I saw a student who has gotten into UCLA via appeal recently. The student stated they just checked their portal and it was an acceptance letter. (I found this on the UC berkeley waitlist discussion) I have also heard of other students having their appeal decisions already made.
I hope they release waitlists soon. Anyone heard anything today?
Thatās weird how they didnāt notify him? Iād check validity on that. Thank you for your response.
I doubt it. Why UCLA lets appeals in BEFORE waitlists?
@Gumbymom Have you heard the same tale? Any UC released decisions for appeals before their waitlists?
Each UC campus will review appeals on their own specific timeline. Some review appeals before waitlists, some simultaneously and some after the waitlist admits. Also for appeals, it can take longer especially if they need more information or documentation or it can be a quick answer if they find no valid basis for the appeal.
I have heard about some UC appeals from this year that have been denied but I did not take notice which particular campuses . I also know Cal Poly SLO has already denied some appeals for this year.
Does UC always send out email notification for decision (waitlists/appeals) or just portal? The student mentioned he got acceptance through appeal, but never received the email, is it normal procedure?
Nopeā¦sigh
I didnāt even get an email about an update when original decisions came out on March 15 . I dont know what happenedā¦
UC must have sent emails to Admitted students, but maybe not for the Waitlisted/Rejected.
I think weāre good. UCLA didnāt admit any waitlist/appeal yet (the student in Music is the exception or fake news)
I think they might start admitting tomorrow, as last year a few waves came 2 days or so before SIR deadline. Lets hope!
I have been doing some looking at the old UCLA waitlist discussions and in the UCLA Freshman Class of 2026 Waitlist/Appeals Discussion there appears to be instances where students were not notified via email but still received an update for their appeal in their portal.
