UCLA Freshman Class of 2028 Waitlist/Appeals Discussion

i think if anyone were to get any updates today it might be later in the evening at about 5 pm PST that’s when they usually send out

how do you know that

I don’t think so. Waitlist updates have consistently been made in the morning so far.

May not be until Saturday morning. I believe that the OOS/INTL wave that was earlier must decide by 11:59 PM on May 23 (Thursday). This is purely a guess on my part.

Appeals will probably come super late right

Yea but that was almost purely Engineering/OOS. I haven’t seen a single L&S In-State Admit so far.

same

I don’t think they will wait to see how the OOS wave responds before releasing the in-state. They have their 18% cap to meet anyway, so if many OOS decline, they’ll just have to admit more from the pool of OOS applicants. Hopefully in-state comes sooner this week.

I saw IS CS admit last week in this thread, did I miss something?

Correct, that is still in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering though. The only IS admits so far have been from there.

You appealed? If you checked UCB/UCD threads, some people reported that their appeals got denied. Appeal decisions could be released earlier than waitlist decisions, don’t keep your hopes high.

We’re losing hopes on waitlist, doesn’t looks promissing this year. I hope you’re happy with the school you SIR’ed.

There’s nothing to indicate this year doesn’t look promising. They simply haven’t released waitlist decisions yet.

agreed.

Don’t lose hope yet. This year is unique due to the FAFSA delays, that’s why it is a late start.

I see multiple signs that is not in favor of the waitlisted…

Keep your hopes lower and you won’t be too disappointed. My nephew already started to shop school items, he’s prepared to be golden bear if not bruin.

Whatever school you’ll go to, it’ll be for the best!

I think the high number of engineering admits we saw last week was encouraging, especially because their acceptance rate is so low and admits from the engineering school in past years have been rare.

But yes, everyone will end up where they are meant to be, and it’ll work out all fine.

Idk man I’m waitlisted at 8 schools and I got into a couple great ones but LA would be >>>

UCLA is my only waitlist lol, and I got into one that is arguably better (controversial haha), a lot of people are telling me to move on from UCLA and that the other is a better school, but idk, my heart is set on UCLA. I just don’t see myself anywhere else.
