Next wave is prolly gonna be thursday

Probably Friday, since the last wave will have until Thursday 11:59.

Maybe even Saturday, so last weeks Thursday and Friday waves commit/decline first.

How much time will admissions give the student to accept an offer if they are admitted off the waitlist? I see here in the thread that a student (out of state) was given a week to accept their offer off the waitlist…. But when we opted-in to the waitlist back in March, didn’t the online form notify us that students will only have 72 hours to decide? (Can’t remember specific language (and I could be wrong), but the 72 hour timeframe stuck with me) (asking for an in-state student currently on waitlist and applied to college of Letters and Science)

There has been some confusion about that. It seems they decided not to stick with their 72-hour deadline, and instead changed it to 7 days.

My daughter has 7 days (OOS) (I also thought it was 72 hours). I would think this would be consistent across everyone who gets admitted from the waitlist. We are on a plane right now to tour. Her deadline is Thursday.

Alright so nothing before Thursday/Friday is expected for In-State students then. This is so weird that they would release a wave of purely OOS kids for L&S bro like what the heck. I guess there’s some reason behind it but man this is just weirdly interesting.

I would guess Saturday, tbh. That’s when all students in the Thursday/Friday wave will have already committed/decline. Sigh…

I mean no disrespect but being taxpayers you’d expect to be higher on the priority list of a state institution yk :skull:

100%, but they don’t care about that. Why do you think their very first wave was OOS and International? :money_with_wings: :moneybag: :hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed:

I feel like most kids will be In-State like eventually according to this particular piece of information. But it’s just the institutional priorities man like damn :skull:

Just a thought…… Longer/extended time to accept offer = lower yield? Perhaps demand is lower than UCLA anticipated due to the FAFSA delay, and they are giving waitlist offers additional time to decide?
Also curious if they would give OOS more time to decide because they live farther away and their tuition price tag will so much higher than in-state admits… and maybe in-state will still have only 72 hours.

As far as the yield goes, that’s a reasonable prediction IMO.

As for your second point, I don’t think so because the IS Engineering wave on Friday was also given a week.

Idk man ugh this waiting game sucks so much bro. By this time in a normal year you know where you’re at generally in a waitlist process, but FAFSA just had to change in our year specifically :skull:

And the fact that it seems like they are making zero effort to speed up this process even a bit makes it worse :sob: like why are you waiting so long, just release it

Thanks! This makes me think demand could be down and yield may be lower this year. Crossing our fingers for all in-state waitlist-ees!

Also Idk why I’m thinking this but do you think making L&S IS students wait more = HIGHER yield than anticipated? Why would they hold off on admitting us when we’re generally part of the “majority students admitted off the waitlist” (In-State)? I mean, could be many reasons like the 18% cap, but what if…
