unfortunately this is just part of the waitlist. it definitely sucks for me too but the best we can do right now is to keep our hopes high and focus on other things. i wish you the best of luck!

Hey all. I wanted to come on here and share a few words as you continue to wait for an update. Today was my graduation ceremony, and as fun and rewarding as it was, it was filled with sadness and regret. Not because I knew I was leaving my friends, but because I spent the last few months of my high school career refreshing my applicant portal, instead of enjoying my last moments with my friends to the fullest. Instead of playing volleyball with my friends at our annual picnic, I sat on the grass alone, anxiously looking for waitlist updates. Instead of going to prom, I spent the night at home, anxiously looking for waitlist updates. Instead of playing board games with my friends in class, I spent the class period on my computer….you guessed it… looking for waitlist updates! Even after getting in, I regret all the stress and anxiety I put myself through… and at what cost?? Did that stress and anxiety change anything? No. Did it cause me to lose that valuable time that I would do anything to get back now? Yes.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, please don’t let this waitlist stress you out like it did to me (as we all saw haha). If it happens, it happens. But it is NOT worth it to stress yourself out for and abandon the things that make you happy. Enjoy yourself and know that you will do amazing wherever you go!

Indeed that does not bode well for those of hoping for a third IS wave…We’re getting into the portion of the program now where getting pulled is akin to winning the lottery.

UCLA just named a new chancellor to succeed Chancellor Block. I’ve asked him as his first course of business to walk over to Admissions and pull my S24 from the waitlist. I’m waiting for his reply.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t start until Jan. 2025.
Darrel Hunt will serve as interim chancellor from Aug - Dec 2024.

In my case, it’s San Diego County, so Nathan Fish, get on that dang bus right now and let’s get this over with! You will not need to worry about getting a denial from the WL offer in this case, I promise you that! C’mon now…
