UCLA Freshman Class of 2028 Waitlist/Appeals Discussion

Given the relatively small number of admits of late, it looks like admits now are due to summer melt (i.e., students getting off waitlists elsewhere and de-committing from UCLA). As others have said, time to fall in love with the school you (or your child) SIR’ed to. There are still seats left on the bus, but very few it seems, so best to plan accordingly.

I agree @cyp238. Chances are slim going forward.

Yes. Few days past no IS L&S admits.

another INS wave this week or no?

For those that got off waitlist, how were u able to access the pre orientation planner. I got off two days ago, and it does not allow me to access the planner

It takes a couple days after you submit your SIR for them to set you up as an enrolled student. Check daily, but it will allow you access in the next day or two.

Slim chance.

You randomly made up things… If you’re not sure, just stay quite!

You told me that my nephew’s offer could be rescind if he didn’t submit his CC transcript. It’s one of reasons we visited the campus last week!

There is food place near Hedrick, but the main dinning hall (buffet style) is 8-minute walk from Hedrick. Hedrick is far from classrooms, scooter is nice to have.

So you told admission your nephew has a CC transcript he isn’t submitting? Please do tell us how that went.

None of your business! Please DO NOT spread inaccurate information here. You made up things which made us nervous, one of reasons we spent 2 days at campus last week.

I’m sorry if the truth made you nervous. Unless you have word from Admissions that you don’t need to submit CC transcripts, whatever it’s written on UCLA website trumps.

You asked the question. You just got an answer you did not want to hear. I was happy to leave it at that, but since you brought it back up, it’s now none of my business? You are right I don’t care what you do.

But if you don’t want answers, don’t ask questions.

Edit to say: you clearly know more about UCLA policy than me. I do like to hear what Admission says without me having to call them myself, if you have more accurate info on this topic.

I always appreciate the inputs/information from others. But you made wrong assumptions with offensive words even though you deleted the inappropriate post, but the damage you made is already done! You accused us of “cheating”, we do not need to cheat! He didn’t want to submit his CC transcript, because the admission office does NOT need it.

I’m sorry I offended you.
Just to prove myself wrong, I will email admissions and get back with “accurate” information.

I do not know what @cy7878 stated about submitting CC transcripts but if the CC courses were reported on the UC application, they are required to be submitted as part of the conditions of admission for UCLA.

I do not know your nephews circumstances and I do not have the original post to reference but if you had asked me the same question, I would have given you a similar answer as @cy7878.

Again, I do not know all the details involved but no one on CC is purposely giving you false information. Of course, admissions has the final word and you did your due diligence by visiting them in person.

Please try to keep these waitlist posts on track but I am also curious to know what admissions said since it could be helpful for future applicants.

If you wants to figure out the entire story, please looks at UCLA Class of 2028. I asked @cy7878 question, he replied. I asked him another question, he replied and used offensive words. @cy7878 deleted his post immediately, but the damage is done.

Identify as “He/him/his.”

I am hoping to prove myself wrong. I emailed admission and will post “accurate” info.

Also please stop using “immoral.” Not a word (or any similar word) I would use. You read into things too much.

@BearsHunter

Please take this disagreement to PM please.
