Good Luck! I’m sure you’ll do great!! :)

If i put my housing options RES PLAZA RES PLAZA RES PLAZA, will that guarantee me a plaza? and if i put DOUBLE (SHARED), DOUBLE, SINGLE (SHARED), SINGLE, DOUBLE (SHARED), DOUBLE, will i get doubles or singles?

^Bad idea.

If they don’t have a single or double in the Res Plaza available, then you’ll end up getting whatever they feel like giving you. Really think about where you would prefer to live and list them, even if you would prefer not to live there. If you don’t end up getting what you want there is something called SWAP DAY, or something similar, when everyone who does not like their housing options meets to exchange rooms with one another. So don’t stress it. =)

Did you guys get any sort of confirmation letting you know that you’ve completed and paid for your housing application? I clicked “submit” while trying to pay and while it was processing, my internet stopped working… How convenient.

just log in to your housing app again. if it says you already filled one out then you should be fine.

i’ve decided to live in a fraternity and my fafsa has me as ‘on-campus.’ i’ve already corrected my fafsa once, should i do it again to change to ‘off-campus’ or just let it be and deal with it later?

you have to email your financial aid rep and let them know you’ll be living off campus. :)

thanks. how do I know who my finaid rep is? lol

it is by alphabet… Mine is Linda Coleman… The financial aid website @ UCLA lists the diff reps.

Here is the link: Meet your reps…

http://www.fao.ucla.edu/officeinfo.html

I know they have a general email listed but you want to contact your rep directly… just copy the email format…

my rep is Linda Coleman… Her email is lcoleman@saonet.ucla.edu so the format is first initial then last name @ this saonet etc…

thanks shawna!!

hey kirbs, just curious if those rates @ the plaza include parking?

2 parking spots are included.

I think I’d go for dorms. They’re like $2000 dollars cheaper per year than the plazas…sure plazas sound nice, but that’s a pretty significant difference. Do transfers live in dorms? Or would I wind up being like the only one there?

IMO the younger transfers go to the dorms… One of my friends is choosing the dorms because she wants the “social” feel and wants to pay as least as possible. She is a transfer. 19 almost 20.

Well, that describes me pretty well, considering I’m 19 going on 20, haha.

By dorms you mean halls? I thought transfers don’t qualify…?

Transfers can live in the dorms. :)

what do you guys think about triples vs doubles?
the only reason i would choose triples is to meet more people & increase the chances of having a good roommate. but that could also backfire.
what did u guys choose?

I chose double, but I’d be perfectly fine with a triple.
