Not sure if this helps anyone, but I appealed the rejection I received back in March from UCSD. I was accepted yesterday morning (07:19 AM PST), May 1st, as a Bio major into Warren college (my top choice).
31 ACT, 1300 SAT, UC GPA 4.0

@chickenloaf I included that I had not included a previous ACT score that would superscore my 30 to a 31, that my most recent high school transcript would show a .2 increase in my overall GPA, as well as sharing some personal challenges during my sophomore year that resulted in a lower than average GPA for me. I was not sure what was lacking in my initial application, so that is why I included all of these. I was never waitlisted, just a straight up rejection, turned into an acceptance.
