Yeah but bc were waitlisted it completely relies on how many of their admits are actually enrolling now, so if people start dropping out to go to cc then we’ll probably have a chance of getting in
I also think its very odd that people were accepted prior to the June 1 sir deadline especially because a lot of them had impacted majors. Initially I thought this meant that ucsd under-enrolled and would be accepting more people off the waitlist than usual but now I am just confused.
I don’t think UCSD is done with waitlist because UCI also hasn’t released anything yet. UCSD and UCI are considered as same tier. I also have no idea how people got off before June 1st. They prolly had some priority on waitlist. I feel like we are going to see this week.

@mskstudent Mine does too but when I contacted admissions they said it was til the end of August.
Okay, so they moved the deadline from late July to late August. That should actually be a good thing. We are only in mid-June so we still have lots of time. Many of my friends last year got in July last year. It sucks that we have to wait more but there should definitely be something going on behind the scene if they changed the deadline to a whole month. I know it’s very hard to overthink bc we are all locked down at home with nothing to do with school being done but let’s all try to stay positive. If they were not using the waitlist then they would not give themselves an extra month.
maybe they’re just waiting until they release their decision on Fall so the people they accept can know and SIR only if they’re okay with it rather than paying and having to decline later

Honestly, I’m not waiting anymore. I already registered for summer courses at UCSC and completed all requirements and documents.
I don’t see a high chance to get off the UCSD waitlist. However, I’m still in the waitlist in case they accept me. Since I live in San Diego, I won’t have any problem dealing with housing now that they don’t guarantee housing. So I’d like to wait in waitlist but not hold my breath.
Does anyone know what they announced / if they announced it?
I just don’t get it, I know I really shouldn’t but I am so anxious because of all this. If there is no space in the waitlist left then why move it a whole month. All this wait is making me go crazy. Like I want it to be over because I need to move on but at the same time, I don’t want to because I really want to go to UCSD. How can there literally be no wave? By now there should be something.
@sstudent2020 I feel you bruh. I’m thinking they might already admitted more number of students than they aimed. If it’s true, then they have no reason to admit from waitlist. But, I’m not losing my hope since there is a special circumstance this year. Let’s be positive and patient.
I just wanted to let yall know I am on the Berkeley waitlist as a transfer and they have accepted a grand total of 3 people that I know of from the forums so don’t expect much. I would plane with backup options! I am enrolled at UCSD but I think for me and some of my friends it’s going to come down to the housing situation and how they handle COVID(I have a really bad immune system). Some schools are revoking housing guarantees and I think within a month or so maybe there will be a wave as students drop out but don’t hold your breath!
Thats crazy! I was expecting more people to get off the waitlist at UCB. UCSD hasn’t even released their fall situation statement to their students yet. I have a feeling it will be hybrid this fall, but since a lot of classes will be online I dont see why they can’t start admitting people off the waitlist.

Does anyone know what UCSD’s plan is for fall 2020? Are they having it all online?
I think its hybrid like the rest of the UC’s. I saw some of their fall classes and most are online, and some lower division classes with smaller discussion groups have in person classes, which is pretty much the same as other schools.
