Good luck to everyone on the waitlist! Hopefully we’ll hear back soon
this is what the admissions office just emailed me: “At this time, UC San Diego does not know how many more students on the waitlist will receive an offer of admission. We recommend that student’s on our waitlist accept another offer of admission at a different university of they have it”.
@lalalisa Positive thoughts! I am sure they are still going to accept people off the waitlist, just a matter of time.
You’re right I need the reminder haha! Also, I didn’t specify that I’m on the transfer wailing so hopefully they think I’m a freshman hehe
i feel like there might be a wave today… hopefully ???
@wannagoback I’m always hoping for a wave every day haha. I know it sucks you guys! we’ve been waiting for a long time I can imagine all the stress everyone is going through. I’m really hoping I get in because a couple of my friends from community college plan on living together and they are just waiting on me. Plus I would rather go here than commit to UCR.
I also agree @colecobutterkisses
was rly hoping there would be a wave today because the largest wave for freshman was on May 7, hopefully we hear something tmr
@stressedsnr wdym by “the largest wave for freshman was on May 7”?
@IamherePowah probably that there was a wave of students accepted off the freshman applicant waitlist on May 7. The freshmen decision deadlines run a month ahead of the transfer decision deadlines.
Typically the second week(which is this week) is usually when the wave starts according to past forums.
ohhh i get it now. Thanks @colecobutterkisses
A waitlisted transfer student posted on the Facebook page yesterday that the ucsd admissions office told them decisions will be released by the end of June
My gut instinct (not verifiable) is they’re holding out to see if any of their waitlisters got off a waitlist for Cal and UCLA and SIR’d there.
wait, so they know people got off other UCs’ waitlist or not? that’s interesting.
I don’t know but they do know if you SIR somewhere else as they will send out an email after a while if you double SIR. Also, some people might remove themselves from a waitlist. I’m just guessing as to their delay versus Cal and UCLA. And Merced tend to be the last to finalize as it’s the catch-all campus. So it makes sense they have some tracking mechanism. Again, I could be totally wrong.
I heard from a friend that the SIR deadline for UC’s was June 3rd, so that shifted everything. However, I can’t justify my friend was certain.
I think that was the case only at Berkeley. I could be wrong but I know for certain that ucsb’s sir deadline remained june 1
yeah I know some uc’s are extending their sir deadline like for ucr it’s on the 15
has anyone heard back after the small wave on the 28th? most of the other uc’s have seen large waves and im slowly getting more and more anxious
