@dreambig55 those are great credentials, surprised he wasn’t even deferred. Who knows something better is out there based on credentials?

Son accepted 2nd choice EE, UW 3.806, 1580, OOS, rejected from CS in school of Engineering.

@dreambig55 That’s crazy. My son is also 1/2 white, 1/2 Asian. OOS. Worse SAT and worse GPA and got deferred for CS. Wow. Feeling lucky to be deferred at this point.

@biften1000, deferral means you are still being considered for at least your second choice major, and possibly even first choice (nothing is provided to tell you which)

@Pelorider, you can be rejected in the EA round.

@hs2020kid, you have been accepted to your second choice major and there will be no further consideration for your first choice major.

Accepted CS+Econ 3.93UW, 5.04W, 1410SAT, 35ACT, in-state. Who else?

Accepted math+cs

Congrats to your son! I was surprised mine didn’t at least get deferred either. Yes, I guess be thankful for that. :slight_smile: It’s all such a crapshoot. Good luck to your son!

@Iloverobots69 My son’s Stats , 1580 SAT, 3.95UW, 4.986W, Instate, Subject SAT 780 Math 2. Some ECs, 200 Hours of volunteering.

to all EA deferred, nothing to loose hope for as you are still in pool for RD. On a side note, if you haven’t selected 2nd choice, it may be a time to revisit application and put a thought about 2nd choice before RD window closes, saying that from 3 years back experience.

What are less/moderately selective, good alternatives to Gies?
