@Wds2024 … Interesting theory however my first name is a ‘T’ and last name ‘S’ and I was accepted a few hours ago. Do not think it is alphabetically. However, I believe it is by major and stats of the applicant.

Hi! I was told by my guidance counselor that I qualified for the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship for my MCAS scores (top 3% in district, perfect math, advanced in English and advanced in Intro Physics). There was no mention of that scholarship in my acceptance letter. Was my guidance counselor wrong and was I not qualified for it? Has UMASS even decided/sent out those scholarships yet? Not one of my friends who were accepted received it either, even the Valedictorian who got similar MCAS scores.

@dubeg2 the scholarship is managed by the State, and doesn’t come from UMass, so look up the name of the scholarship on google… and you’ll find out the details of how it works.

Yes biology in state. Good luck

@dubeg2 should receive a letter from the MA Exec. Office of Education re: John/Abigail Adams. Haven’t received UMass decision yet, so I don’t know if it will show up on their award letter. This year’s UMass credit is $1,575.00. Weirdly, the letter tells you that you have to keep a hard copy of the letter to provide to the school. My daughter’s arrived at our home address in October. If your counselor told you, you might ask if she has the letter.

Hi @dubeg2, I asked the AO about that at the information session we attended (my son qualifies for it too). She said the Admissions office never receives info on who qualifies for the Adams scholarship - you should check with the financial aid office. Congrats on being accepted!

my son also applied to UMass Lowell

We still haven’t heard from admissions. Last name C; first name D so I don’t believe that the decisions prioritized by name. My son’s first choice major was sports management and I haven’t seen acceptances from this school posted yet. Who knows!??! Good luck to all!

My son got into Honors College UMass Amherst w/ Deans. In state. Also UMass Lowell Honors with Chancellor. Computer Science. Waiting to hear from more colleges now. Big decisions to make, but this looks like an amazing start! Proud of him…he’s worked very hard as I’m sure all of our kiddos have.

Hey did any international student get his results today?
I am really nervous rn and I feel that all international decisions are already sent few weeks back.
My concern is why is UMass Amherst not sending any rejections or waitlist list?
For this, due we have to wait till first week of Jan for disappointment.?

Did anyone who is still waiting on a decision have their portal change in the last couple of hours? My son’s now has a new first page when he logs on that lists “your applications”. It has one application on it (2020 Early Action) that is highlighted. When I click on that it leads to me the original status application status page that we have seen since the original submission…“thank you for your application, verify address, application checklist etc.”

Yes, even I am waiting for the decision and it recently shows even for me. However, I really don’t know why this change has been made as we have not received our decisions yet

I was accepted into the Honors College as an English Major in the College of Humanities!
I applied for instate, and I had a 1360 SAT score, 3.75 unweighted/4.44 weighted GPA. Lots of extracurriculars, two internships, one at the statehouse in MA. My common app essay was good, nothing amazing, and my recs. were strong! (my school was able to read them :). Goodluck!!!
