Accepted OOS. Reading the stats of OOS rejections, we feel very fortunate!
3.98 UW, 4.57 W, 1450 SAT (780 Eng, 670 math), very good EC’s
History major so that might have helped as it’s not as competitive (not sure if they look at majors).
My son is a writer so essays were a huge focus for him and were very strong.
OOS accepted via the Global Connect program (Costa Rica). 3.97uw, 4.4w, 35act, legacy
You do the Fall semester in San Jose, then Chapel Hill for spring 25 and beyond. Anyone else get in the GC program? It sounds like each of the global satellite campuses have about 30 UNC kids each.
My kid is OOS IB student - all HL classes; 1540 SAT/ Submitted 12 AP exams all 5s few 4s (top classes, calc, physics, chem etc.) 4.0 unweighted. Rank top 3. President of 4 clubs. 4-year Captain Varsity and club athlete, internships, abroad programs, etc. Solid essays.
Rejected OOS. Daughter is pretty bummed as this was her top choice. She has good fall back options but she fell in love with Chapel Hill. Congrats to all who got in!
In-state, test optional, 4.0 uw, no ranking, 6 AP; residential conservatory student. Strong leadership and school/community involvement, student government president, debate club, published author, capstone. Accomplished artist (10 years of training and national recognitions), strong writer-great essays, solid teacher recommendations. I 100% believe her application was evaluated holistically and her narrative was clear. She used every inch of the application to explain her passions and special circumstances.
I got one where even if you are OOS you pay the in-state tuition cost. I couldn’t find the name though. Does anyone know the acceptance rate for EA this year?
Anyone familiar with the format of the admitted students’ day and tour? Is it essentially the same tour prospective students go on or are there other elements to it?
Here’s what I found while looking at the events section. This is a screenshot of one particular option. Sessions are 2 hours 30 min which includes a tour.
