My OOS daughter got in, and Honors was an unexpected thrill!! We are so excited. 4.3 weighted, lots of honors/AP, 33 ACT. She’s also a musician and had an in person audition that she felt good about - thinking that helped her get in.

What language was in the email notification stating that status update is available for those accepted or rejected. I see the email but I am letting her open it later. From the working of the email I am expecting it is a denial.
"Thank you for applying to Carolina. We now have a decision available for you online. To see your decision, please log in to your MyCarolina status page and click on the “view status update” link.

I remember last year on the right was a new part of the portal that had a person’s name and was her admissions counselor (or something like that. It made me think she had been accepted, however it was worded. I remember it well because mine took 7 minutes before she opened it she was so nervous. (She was accepted.)
My daughter was just accepted Global Launch with a first semester in Spain. Does anyone have any information on this? OOS

Should be fine as he is not sure if he wants comp engg or comp science. it is possible to dual major at NC State.

Rejected OOS. Bummer since this was a top choice for him but we all figured that this would be the result given the OOS numbers. Happy that it was quickly followed by an acceptance from NC state.

How are you all breaking the rejection news to your kids. D25 had 3 auditions for music and was hoping she would get in.
My son broke the rejection news to me since he’s the one checking the portals

My son did Carolina Global Launch last fall (Costa Rica). He loved it and is currently now on campus in Chapel Hill for the Spring semester. Overall, the kids who did Global Launch are a tight-knit group (there are 120 of them; ~35 each in Spain, Ireland, Scotland, Costa Rica & Korea).
UNC had a special 2-day orientation in Chapel Hill in early August and then everyone does their own semester program abroad. And then come Spring, you are just a regular second-semester freshman on campus.
