UNC Class of 2024 EA Discussion Thread

@gottobenc it was on my personal portal for a split second and went away after I refreshed. It wasn’t a list of my grades, but a system that said 10 - All A’s in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade, 9 - One or two B’s during high school, etc. I can try to copy the entire chart and post it here later.

I called admissions this morning to ask about the decision release date. Admissions rep said I cannot tell you an exact day but it will be during the last week of Jan.

Ahhhhhhh so no hope for 1/24?

Appreciate the info @prof16!
In this process the waiting has been harder than I expected. Son has heard from 1 EA, waiting for 4 EA and then 5 RD…UNC is one of his top choices so I am especially nervous. Good luck to you!!!

Please copy and post it if you have time. It would be interesting to see!

@gottobenc - How did/do you navigate to your ‘personal portal’? I can log onto the ‘apply/status’ portal but I am not aware of any other portal. Thanks for your response

does this work for everyone???

https://pid.itsapps.unc.edu/PIDCreate/jsp/wmp.jsp

@blktag Don’t know what it is but yes it pulls up a number for my D20 (who doubts she is getting in and is crossing her fingers to at least make waitlist).

@blktag It works for me but what is it for?

An identification number @gymnastics17

works for me but all prospective students have one apparently

it it doesn’t work for me! yikes haha

“The issuance of a PID does not indicate that you have or will be admitted to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Admissions decisions are communicated only in writing and only by the respective admissions office.”

aw, it’s kind of sad that we’ll have to wait till next week.

I saw someone on Reddit called and they were told they’re coming out this Friday. That contrasts what everyone else I’ve seen has been told. Wondering if anyone else called and were told Friday as well?

Where on Reddit was this? I’ve been looking at Reddit and don’t see anything about UNC2024 release dates :frowning:

UNC either accepts or denies, no hope for defferal since they took it away this year. 3,500 applicants are offered positions on the waitlist now and last year 2444 accepted the waitlist position and off that waitlist, on 22 for accepted off of it.

It was some comment on a post in the applying to college subreddit

Really hoping if someone can chance me?

Essays

I am very proud with how my essays turned out because they really show who I am as a person because not many people are familiar with my religion and always mistake it for Hinduism or Islam. Throughout my essays I show how I am different than every other kid regarding my religious beliefs and looks and I showed how I am different by using many comparisons.

Recommendations

All of my recommendations are strong because I chose two people in my life who I am very close with and truly understand who I am as a person.

Thank you and I appreciate all of the feedback given!!

My DD’s friend got her rejection today at 4 pm.
