huh, every friend of mine (4-5 including myself) who had “Computer Science/Computer Engineering” on their unofficial transcript online got “Pre-Science/Pre-Engineering” on their physical enrollment slip.
Another friend of mine (non CSE) had “Pre-Engineering” on his physical slip but he called the Bioengineering department and they confirmed that he actually had DA status for that major.
Maybe there was some issue or delay this year?
Where do you see what major you got in for? When I checked my application on the portal it says…
“Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to the University of Washington for autumn quarter 2016. An official letter has been mailed to you. Please allow sufficient time for the mail to reach you, especially if you live outside of Washington state. You may choose to accept or decline your admission to the Seattle campus of the UW online. The deadline to confirm your enrollment is May 1, 2016.”
…but it doesn’t say anything about majors.

@amulyab I hope so, because that’s what it says on my letter, but I can’t see my major on the unofficial transcript because I did UW in HS.

I know that feel. I have been told by just about everyone that I got DA because my physical slip says comp sci, but I can’t help but question everything.

if its the second situation id say you probably got DA, the first one is less certain.
@collegeplanner11 i don’t think ill feel certain until i get some sort of confirmation (or lack of one) from the CSE department itself.
i just checked the portal and my unofficial transcript is uploaded but i haven’t gotten a letter/notification… are you guys sure that an unofficial transcript =acceptance?
@amulyab I have pre-physical science. But I’ve done CS research at UW and was accepted to Caltech and MIT, so I don’t see why they’d accept me to UW but not to CS DA. I feel like if Tufts Syndrome was the issue, I wouldn’t have been accepted to UW at all.
@csmy97 No, but check if it has your acceptance on the portal (go to the link labeled “Freshman Application” under “UW Seattle” in the “Admissions” tab).

Guys i dont get it. Do majority of the applicants get pre something ? How does this pre something work? can someone explain ?

that’s technically for international students but U’m 99% sure the pre-major info is the same
Just checked, and I was admitted. I know that UW offers only Pre-Engineering to the majority of engineering/CS applicants. On my portal, it says “requested majors: Computer Engineering, Computer Science”. Does this mean I got direct admittance? Or will I find out later?
Edit: I found the unofficial transcript thing, and it said “Pre-Engineering”. X(
