Univ of Washington Class of 2020 Application Thread

OOS and the button for “unofficial transcript” disappeared. This most likely means a rejection for me, not too bummed though

@AIprogrammer did you refresh the page?

@Wesley364 Just did yeah

praying for a miracle tonight

@Alprogrammer probably just a glitch! dont worry

@smartypants57 My D also has the same type of inquire… She receive two likely letters from Ivy League schools. She did an internship at a very prestigious software company. Her SAT is 2330, and GPA UW is 4.0. She did a lot of volunteer work and college level research. I cannot understand what was deficient in her application. If got DA, she would really go to UW… I wonder whether she can ask a CSE advisor what the heck was deficient in her application.

@collegeplanner11 Yes, I’m in-state

@PentaDad have you received the UW letter yet? If so, what does it say under “major” on the enrollment form?

@smartypants57
Then the admissions pepole have stumped me thoroughly

Hey can anyone tell me how to find the decision online? I am completely lost.

Has any international applicant received decision?

Any OOS receive a physical letter yet?

OOS no letter yet. It is hard to wait because without a Purple and Gold Scholarship the school is too expensive. Fingers crossed. Please post if you get a letter and whee you live. Thanks!!

DA admission means you are directly admitted to your program. Pre engineering means you are admitted like a " first year engineer" so this means that you will need to re apply to your major at the end of the first year. So pre engineering basically means that you could try all the engineering majors, however, at the end of your 1st year you need a overall gpa to get in to the program. Let’s say you want to do bio-engineering and you are admitted with pre engineering. So in UW, you will take the required classes (e.g like Chem, Math, bioeng,CS) and then get a gpa around 3.4- 4.0. In the website, there are statistics available for other majors too. So basically for early admission( which means deciding on your major after a year) you need to be basically in the range of the programs gpa. You can get more info in the pre engineering site in UW

@efebrkn the above comment was for you btw, kinda forgot to add your name at the end :smiley:

@waitingforresults a batch of international students got their decisions last night. I also just got an email. but dont worry if you havent got yours because there’s still more decisions coming.

Apparently they sent out some “I Accept” letters with the wrong major listed. That’s what they said to me when they confirmed my DA for computer engineering!

The CS person I talked to said that the unofficial transcript confirms whether you have DA status or not.

@PentaDad Do not give up yet! Last year several people had pre-science major posted on their unofficial transcripts online but then got an e-mail from CSE department about acceptance/DA into CS major. Good luck!

@SingleChild Would this mean that CSE decides who gets by DA in several rounds?!.. This does not seem to make any logical sense.

@amulyab @SingleChild thanks for the info. Unfortunately I can’t see my unofficial transcript because I did UW in HS. Guess I’ll just have to wait for the CSE email.

My unofficial transcript just loaded with my pre major in Arts and sciences since I’m still undecided and didn’t apply to a DA. Does that mean I’ve been accepted? It also listed me as a freshman and have me my student ID number
