Got an email from the CSE dept. Telling me that I have DA.
@table16 Yep, all came in the same envelope
@brookiecookie215 Depends on whether I get into Berkeley, but UW is offerring a lot of award money so it’s a really strong consideration for me
I didnt commit to UW yet but I’m just wondering if anyone did.
If you did, can you tell me the date and times of the A&O??
Also yea same I applied for Computer Science and got in Pre-Physical Science lol
Also is there a group chat for prospective 2020 students?
or any kind of group?
is there any chat with people who are looking for roomates
@collegeplanner11 I got DA for Electrical Engineering, is there any way to know how many others that happened to? Like how common/uncommon is it?
The facebook group for admitted student is pretty stagnant. Any better groups?
Oops! Awkward! First ever CC post is in the wrong thread… 8-X
Part of the waitlist wave, posting a little late because I needed to recuperate.
I’m out-of-state, going to one of the top public schools in the state, taking full IB, immigrant and ESL, with a senior year gpa of 3.98/4.44 and SAT score of 2000.
Alright ECs, fairly strong recs, and I worked hard on my essay.
I am going to join the waitlist but I’m considering appealing. I don’t know, we’ll see. High hopes, though!
@potemkin42
yeah, I got an email telling me that i got DA and that less than 5% of people who applied for DA in cs got in
Has any OOS non DA’s received their financial aid letter yet?
@UWfromCA Unweighted, yes. Weighted is approximately a 4.1.
@deljo I agree, but my friend currently attends (she is a freshman this year). Otherwise I would not have heard of the school.
Does anyone know when/how people are informed of honors college decisions? I received my acceptance to the normal college of arts & sciences on March 17th.
@hitrusha I do agree that losing a relative could change who you are, but it could also easily turn into a sob story unless you focus on the points on how it changed you other than just being sad.
I checked the online portal for my admission status, but I was wondering how long after it took for everyone OOS to get their physical acceptance letter in the mail and what came with it. For some reason I haven’t been getting any of my mail which concerns me, and I want to know if it’s just because it’s OOS that it’s taking is long or something else
I was accepted on a Wednesday evening and received my letter on the following Monday in Texas. It had the congratulations letter, return envelope to accept admission and a new huskies 2016 booklet. I just received yesterday several emails from my engineering advisor but still nothing on awards or aid.
My daughter just got her physical letter in the mail today after learning of her acceptance online last…Wednesday, I think? The Honors admit announcement arrived today as well, in a separate envelope. Her full financial package was not in the letter, but they did announce that she got the $8500/yr Purple and Gold scholarship.
I really don’t think these letters were mailed the day the portal was updated, unless the mail has been exceptionally slow
@“Hopeful student” Thanks! I did notice the portal only has the 2015-2016 year up for financial aid, so I guess it’s premature for me to hope for a physical letter for that. I learned of my acceptance last week, so I’m hoping the mail has just been incredibly slow. Congratulations on your acceptance!
@GoodGrief16 Thanks! I’ll wait it out some more before contacting them. Congratulations to your daughter on her acceptance and the scholarship!
@mintgreen97 I don’t think that not receiving the physical letter yet is anything to worry about. I am OOS from Missouri and I was accepted through the portal. I am waiting on the letter as well. I guess it just takes longer to get to us.
I just want to have the tangible, actual acceptance letter. For now, I will continue to anxiously await its arrival!!
