Whelp, I got rejected or waitlisted from pretty much every school (UIUC, GT, UCLA, list goes on) except somehow I got UW CSE direct admit, so I’m definitely going to enroll in that!
if more than 15k students get admitted but half of them accepts and enrolls, how come the number of people admitted off the waitlist is so little (like 200)?
Because UW overadmits students to fit a certain class size, knowing that not everyone will enroll (taking into account average yield probably) @sourfeature
Is there any specific chat? I am so excited and have really just started considering UW as a really serious option (just received admission to honors!!!)
Hey everyone, what does “DA” refer to, direct admit? My D’s UW acceptance says she has been admitted to the college of engineering as a “Pre-Engineering” major. Does that mean she is not guaranteed a slot in her preferred major (BME)?

@jackisawesome are you going to enroll in honors? make sure you look it up and know what you’re going into (on google), so that you don’t regret anything!
@NUwildcat92 yep that’s what it means…our D was admitted to COE and pre-engineering, I called and talked to admissions and emailed the engineering dept. They both say that she would have to do the prerequisite classes and maintain a 3.5 GPA in each subject, then apply to her major (Chemical Engineering), but not guaranteed as it is very competitive. So we are probably will be looking elsewhere, she has been direct admit into 6 other schools.
Have all honors college decisions been released, or were they just released? I am OOS and have not gotten a letter yet about honors.

On the UW portal the messages say a financial aid award has been given, but I don’t know how to open/access is. Does anyone know how to view this award?

Well. This is still my dream school. I am going to finish out the year strong to boost my GPA, and probably take the ACT again in May or June. I really don’t want to and feel like I shouldn’t have to, but anything that can help get me into this school… This isn’t over, UW…
