Thanks and same to you
There are lots of very good to excellent engineering programs that cost way below $60K to $80K per year.
Dumb question - has anyone NOT received a hard copy/real piece of mail from CU Boulder for their studentās admission. I find it odd that we still have not received. We are OOS.
I have a question on exploratory studies and tiered tuition:
I know someone who was admitted to the EBIO major, they then would have to pay Tier 3 tuition. Exploratory Studies does not seem to have any restrictions on what classes they can take while paying Tier 1 tuition.
So, is it possible for them to switch to the exploratory studies program for the first two years, pay tier 1 tuition, and take the same intro bio/chem/math classes they would take anyway and then transfer to the bio major at the end of sophomore year?
Another Ranking:
NU is #37 and Colorado is #48
Yes.
Its not the rankings⦠its the college numberā¦
Rankings are on the right side
Not sure how they determine it but isnāt placement truly the most important thing?
There CU is 55 and NU 63.
Is that really different? Likely not. Is the methodology legit? No idea.
But US News (which is peer ranked and that is meaningless) and other sources are - ehhhh - useless but they do sway people.
Iād subscribe that the schools are very different and both are great - but Iād also think someone who wants the tradition of a CU might not want the ethos of NU and vice versa.
I thought this was more useful as it was averaging us news, csrankings.org and placement. I guess you can prove CU > NU or CU < NU whatever you like with the different ranking methodologies.
Of all the different majors, CS is probably one where undergraduate rankings matter the least.
Anyone else waiting on RD results? Boulder continues to be my sonās first choice. He was deferred during EA, so we are anxiously awaiting⦠thinking they MAY release this Thursday/Friday based on the last two years.
Also waiting on RD results. What makes you think they might be this week? That would be great!
I am only guessing. I donāt have any insiders knowledge, or anything. Based on previous threads, last year RD was released on the first Thursday in March and in 2023 they were released on the first Friday in March.
Iāve found last yearās info to be pretty predictive for other schools, so this is good to know. Thanks!
I can definitely see decisions coming out this week, I was deferred from Early Action and before it said āDecision Postedā with my letter but now itās back to āUnder Reviewā
Purdue is frozen for next year meaning from this year to next year its the same but that itās not a four year guarantee. our concern is that with everything going on with federal funding that they may decide to finally increase it by a huge amount the following year
You could say the same for any school.
accepted for fall!!
Seems like decisions are out just now. Anyone heard of their Verto program? Son wasnāt accepted but said he could join the waitlist. However, canāt find the waitlist option on the portal. Any ideas where it is? Thank you!
Found the waitlist form but itās not loaded correctly.
My son was also waitlisted. He is so bummed. This has been his top choice since the day he stepped on campus a year ago.
I havenāt looked at the portal. Letting my kiddo process it all and will ask to take a look this weekend. I know he will def want to accept a place on the waitlist.
