Same here. Hope it’s soon!

Same on all fronts! It will be such a relief when we have all the info for all the schools and the kids can actually decide!

A merit letter appeared in my daughter’s portal yesterday, with no email alert to check.

My son (Economics major) received his acceptance letter (he was EA, applied in September) on November 7. He received $7,00 merit letter on 11/28 (In state - $28,000k total). He is a 4.0 uw GPA and 4.17 weighted (this will go up at midyear grade reports). He took 5 APs and received 5s. He is taking 3 more this year, plus has 4 dual enrollment. His portal was updated with the same message about Honors College today. I am hoping that we hear in December. March is a long time - so many other colleges will be sending offers before then. Good luck everyone! Waiting is the hardest!

Last year they started letting people know about honors mid-December, but not many. Seems a lot more heard in the January/February timeframe. The waiting is definitely the hardest part. I think they probably wait a little to see who drops off after ED decisions or EA decisions from other schools come through. Good luck to you. Your son sounds like an excellent candidate for honors so I bet you’ll hear soon!

OOS or in-state?

OOS admitted for ChemE today. 4.1 weighted / 3.8 unweighted. 33 ACT. In case it’s helpful for anyone.

OOS admitted to mechanical.engineering tonight. Test optional. Will need to wait on merit to see if its feasible but seems like it would be a good fit

Amazing!

Congrats!! :tada:

Could the OOS folks who have already gotten merit remind me what their accepted student portal looked like initially and what happened next? Based on what I’ve read, my kid SHOULD get merit when using his recalculated GPA on a 5 point scale (with +.5 for Honors, +1 for APs, etc), but his school doesn’t award quality points for Honors classes so his transcript GPA looks meaningfully lower that the recalculated and that makes me nervous.

I believe most colleges use unweighted since different high schools weigh grades very differently.

I’m wondering the same thing. My daughter has a 4.0 unweighted. Her school doesn’t weight anything, but she’s doing a full IB diploma so highest rigor possible. I’m kind of assuming that bumps her up to 5.0 on the UD scale but would love to have more certainty.

I guess we will know for sure at some point!
