Wonderful to hear! Plan right now is law school but she knows that people can pivot and is keeping teaching in her back pocket. She thinks the writing needed for history will be valuable

I would not worry about this one. For years Fordham was a great reliable safety because they refused to play all the yield management games (deferring, waitlisting, pressure to ED, demonstrated interest etc etc a la Tufts, Northeastern, Tulane) to lower their admit rates and increase their yields. But the rumor is that this year they gave in.
In other words, her deferral is about THEM not her. She will get in if she continues to demonstrate interest (writes a letter or similar.)

I read that they making students write a letter demonstrating continuing interest. This is to weed out the Students to apply to way to many schools to begin with. That way they know, who’s seriously interested in accepting an admission to Fordham.

Daughter accepted 12/12/25 for Marine Science and received 15k/ yr Presidential Scholarship. OOS (California) 3.93uw/4.2w GPA, 1280 SAT, 10 AP classes, 6 years of science, high level soccer player, high school clubs with leadership, worked as lifeguard, biotech intern etc.

A letter but they just emailed her about moving her app to EDII and threw in priority housing if admitted through EDII. She loves Fordham but she knows this is such a numbers game at this point.

You are so sweet and supportive. She is writing the letter and while she loves the school, she knows she basically has no control in the situation.

Honors acceptance received today for my daughter. OOS. SAT 1430. 4.0 GPA uw
She is over the moon and going to be a BLUE HEN!

DD randomly checked the portal and found out she was accepted today. OOS, 4.1w, didnt submit tests, good ECs.

It shows today’s date as the “status update” date. And you can click on the letter from there. And down below where the honors college info was, the language changed.

Right underneath Status updates our says Click here to view your decision letters. And once she clicks on that there are now 2 letters - one for acceptance and one for Honors.
Received Honors acceptance today. 3.6ish UW GPA with a lot of rigor, 1350 SAT. $15k per year scholarship.
