The point of deferring is the student may still have a chance depending on what the RD pool looks like. Deferred students are now in the RD pool so will receive their decision in early March.

Impossible. Transferring to CS from another major is not allowed at UIUC.
Hi, following up on the transfer question, transfering to CS or CS+X is difficult / impossible⊠Does anyone know the possibility of changing major from a different engineering to Electrical or Computer engineering? Is that a possible option?

OOS accepted information science school for IS + DS.
How selective is ischool this year? Last year it had around 21% accept. rate but Iâm not seeing many people applying for ischool this year. Will it be more competitive or less competitive compared to last year?

You should join the UIUC Parents fb group to ask this type of question, youâll get a lot of good feedback.
I was on the website to see what materials they want to see if deferred and it says not to send in anything. Is that correct? No LOCI, no mid year grades?
That is what we took away from it. They have what they need and will assess a deferred applicant with what has already been submitted. My DS24 appreciated it as there was zero ambiguity.
With that said - I understand that some may be concerned that deferred applicants are impacted by this as their information (grades, ECâs, awards) may not be as current as RD applicants. But with the RD deadline at 1/5/2024 the likelihood seems small.

UIUC does not look at 7th semester grades for RD applicants either. Some RD candidates could benefit from ECs in 12th first semester, but hopefully many EA applicants also had that info in their app.

Is there anyway to change my major except for ict? I got into social work, but itâs really different than I thought so I wanf to transfer to chemistry or biology which is in LAS.
