It’s a solid application. I’ll be shocked if you don’t get accepted!
I’ve never used a tool like Naviance. DDs school doesn’t use it. Does it only show admits or rejects / total applied as well from a given school?
Our school uses naviance-- shows all students applied decisions along with their SAT and GPA anonymously
wow, that would be a such a useful reference to help build a good college list.
It does not break it down by major though which can give false info (false hope?). At least the version my kids’ school uses doesn’t. Sometimes I think it hurts as much as it helps.
that can make a huge difference… thanks for the insight… that’s the dilemma with information–sometimes lessor is better, sometime not! lol!
This is the report for our HS in Naviance. Acceptance rate is quite high (~36% in 2024) even we are OOS. This is much easier compared to UCLA (9%).
for ours OOS Acceptance rate is 65%, however it is old data from 2022
average profile is 4.3 gpa and 1480 SAT
Significant difference in % admitted between 22, 23 and 24 app cycles. Interesting that no one enrolled until fall 24. That fits the general trend which led to over enrollment and serious housing issues at Illinois this year.
Our School’s admit rate last year was 34/67 (50.7%) for UIUC with 0 enrollments. Suprising, but probably because many of these students chose UT-Austin instead (in state school) or another really good school.
I’m guessing enrollment history will also drive the acceptance rate of a school (yield protection)?
Making us glad we still have the withdrawal option
Does not seem to based on data above. They continued to admit more students despite zero enrollments until fall 2024.
Yeah, I was disappointed when I saw how my D’s school uses it: just for college hunting and sending out confidential info. From listening to how it’s explained on these boards, it could contain some powerful historic performance data - at the local school and all the Unis that their students have applied at.
But great design & setup along with consistent, continued maintenance is critical…. Which many schools can’t afford.
Does having the form mean having the “withdraw form” button or able to submit a withdraw request after clicking the button.
Mine says “You are not eligible to submit this form.” after clicking in.
did u already try clicking that blue withdraw button on the bottom of the page?
I only pressed the button on the home page
“Having the form” means that after you click on the applicant withdrawal form button, you access the page that has the blue “Withdrawal App” button
Don’t think so. With the caveat that the numbers are low (15-20 applicant a year usually) and only a few years’ history shows, there is a 70-75% admit rate in my kid’s school (oos) and usually 1 enrollment.
I can’t make out the predominant pattern from the little I’ve heard in CC, but some people have claimed AOs/Unis get burned and then cut the offending school off.
