Could be. They didn’t put Michigan or Wisconsin which historically are the same dates so I’m guessing they have more concrete info. We shall see!

If you right-click on the portal website, and click on ‘view page source’. then do CRTL+F and type in ‘Accepted’. it will show this line: rules: {DECISION_ACCEPTED: “required”, DECISION_RESPONSE: “required”}"
The above was from “UMD - College Park Class of 2025 Regular Decision” thread , when my daughter applied to UMD . I’m not sure if it was working and/or still worked, but maybe try it to kill time. 
It may work later but right now I couldn’t see anything useful under view page source. Under inspect, there is html for the eventual decision button but no content.

It’ll only work once decisions are loaded into the system. That usually happens a day or two prior.

So after you type it in, what shows up if they are accepted?
The CS minds applying to UMD are too smart! Who figured this out and how many other things did they try first?! 
The portal says that there will be maintenance on Sunday the 21st
My understand is after you type in “Accept” and if you see the following:
{DECISION_ACCEPTED: “required”, DECISION_RESPONSE: “required”}"
then your student is accepted, but that is just a guess. I recalled attempted 3 years ago but now I can’t since I have no portals to try (my daughter applied 3 years ago, but now already a student there).

I think I remember from years past that this “trick” seems to work just in the hour or so before decisions are publicly released.

Did anyone see this today ? How exciting for those that are local to get their acceptances this way ! It was on their Instagram stories .
Do we think acceptances may be tomorrow ? The portal said it will be down a bit this morning so I’m wondering if they made some updates behind the scenes

It will be this coming Friday evening. UMD has set historical precedent.

They must have posted both at the same time, so thank you! What a super fun way for students to receive their acceptances in person . I wonder how they choose the students for that

Agree, UMD builds anticipation throughout the week.
Plus campus was closed Friday for snow.
On campus students return today. Classes start Wednesday.
Do you think it will still be 1/26 when the post says by 2/1? Wondering if they are behind schedule ?
