University of Maryland College Park (UMD) Early Action for Fall 2024

No it has never happened before. Looks like an error on UMD’s part. I hope they fix it.

@STEMX, FYI.

I almost feel badly for them !

what time do results come out for fall 24

We think 4:45

If freshman connection allows the student to take “up to 17 credits during the fall semester” AND “Live on campus during the fall semester” and “Utilize the university’s academic resources” and “Participate in UMD activities and organizations” how is that different from actually being enrolled (my son was accepted to begin Spring 2025 semester)

Classes at off -peak hours, nights/weekends etc is one way

We heard from other parents that you cannot take your classes during the day…

I think it’s just that they have to take their first semester classes in afternoon or evenings.

I think the student’s stats aren’t reported for ranking purposes.

Same here - hoping its a typo. On hold with admissions now

Basically it’s the same but you are banned from having 8am classes. Which, if my kids are any indication, is better than Fall admit.

This is true! Which definitely leads to stats looking even more inflated…

My daughter saw the letter but now can’t access it to show me because she says her letter says admitted with a Spring 2026 start date. Is that possible???

Rejected. Oos, 3.83,4.2. Test optional. Poli sci. First rejection but we hadn’t toured this school yet so she isn’t too bummed

Decisions available

My son did freshman connection. Now a junior. He lived in the dorm and took classes that were offered starting at 3 pm. He loved having the showers to himself when everyone else went to class in the morning. He had a great first semester.

admissions now clarifying that it’s “Spring (January 2025) or sooner as part of the Freshman Connection program.” Not sure what that means…
