No honors invitation

Honors/scholars invitation will be mentioned in the acceptance letter. Merit offers go out a few weeks later.

There is nothing in the portal
just application status. Is it still coming?

D24 got in College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences with honors invite. OOS, 4UW/4.7W GPA, 1570SAT, 36ACT.

After Michigan deferral and UIUC rejection, we really needed this. CS is so SO hard to get into nowadays ;-(
Edit: CS major.

Can you help me understand the FIRE program ? Is this an honor of sorts ?

Thanks @DadOfJerseyGirl . I guess she didn’t get in honors then.

Google UMd FIRE, it offers research opportunities. A great program!

Congrats! Make sure the letter says the major is CS and not L&S

Sorry to hear - but you will have other opportunities.

There is an appeal process - but you’d truly need to show that something on your application markedly changed that they should revisit you - and it’s highly unlikely - although I helped a student at UF the other year and she won her appeal - but she had a lot to add.

Get your mind around going elsewhere.

It’s a reason why you apply to more than one school and a balanced list.

The “where” you go matters little than what you do - you’ll find that in life.

You’ll be fine!!

Best of luck.
