I know aid isn’t until March…but if you got accepted into honors college it would say on the letter right? Or do you have to wait for that too?
Their merit awards are sent out throughout the month of February (per our friends who did this last year)
I know a young who started in Freshman Connection. He went on to get a PhD in Physics from Yale
Anyone know why my OOS early applicant does not have a decision back yet?
It would be in the first sentence
S25, in-state, accepted for Aerospace Engineering with Honors College invite. 3.99/4.91 UW/W, 1550 SAT.
Has anyone gotten deferred or rejected? …
I am in shock. Daughter is 3.9/4.4 GPA, 8APs, 2 CC classes, Engineering pathway (Project Lead the Way), great LORs, Great ECs, 1360 SAT, in state. Rejected.
The letter we received mentioned being the child of an alumni.
Her brother was accepted a few years ago with much lower stats and no ECs.
Looking in Naviance, there have only been ten other kids with stats as high as her or higher that were rejected. (to include the SAT score.
same here
Anyone else from EA not get their result yet?
yep.
Son (OOS) accepted. So if he received honors it would be in the letter?
It’s nuts. No rhyme or reason. Your kid can clearly do the work. My son is at basketball practice so we are waiting.
We have a friend her son is top in class, traveling DECA team, great stats, deferrred from Michigan, Wisconsin, northeastern.
I’ve been on this forum a long time, and I’ve never seen a single post where someone regretted doing Freshman Connection
S25 accepted plus University Scholars program. in state. UMD is his top choice and we are thrilled and also relieved. Several friends in same boat but several did not get in.
Does UMD have a history of releasing decisions at a different time or in batches?
Yes
Accepted OOS - direct admit to CS - 3.9UW, 4.3W, 1470 SAT. Two of my other kids went there for CS (and one was admitted for PoliSci but went elsewhere). From the 1st to the 4th kids, this school went from a safety to a reach in CS. So we were not expecting it
yes
No, they all come out at the same time
